A cheat to fully integrate Phoco into RR
Hi All,
Just wanted to share this to save some hair pulling & head bashing:
After trying for ages to make Phoco work inside RR without success (Worked on XP but not on my carpc's Win 2000), now I found a workaround which will make phoco compatible with any front ends. Here is what I did:
1) I opened up the menu.skin file of my roadrunner skin and copied down the location and size of the phone "button". The corresponding command "Phoco","" was also deleted
2) Using PhoneControl Visual Designer, I moved and resized the "Popup button" to the location and size stated on the menu.skin of the roadrunner. I also made it totally transparent.
I thought the above steps will work but it didn't (it did but an opaque "button" hangs over the RR phone button) so I checked on the phoco config file and changed the "PopupOnHide" attributes by changing the opacity to 1. I left the colour alone.
Voila, now Phoco is "integrated" into RoadRunner without any problem. The best thing is that all functions of the phoco works, meaning it will still pop up when an incoming call is received, as well as the lowering of the volume on winamp.
Phoco is truly Great! Thanks Zorro!
Charles

Hmm.. very interesting workaround.... however, you must have the phoco button at the same position in your RR skin for every screen right? (Just to make sure I understand everytin)

Or, instead of doing that, you can make all the PhoCo buttons in RR, no matter what screen you are on, to be a minimize RR button and thus showing PhoCo thats in the background. In PhoCo there are settings to choose which app to switch to when you click the close button in PhoCo, put RR here.

Wow, couteau, that would solve some of the problems I'm seeing between PhoCo and RR. The bugs are different in every skin I try, but this would let me settle on one skin (I'm particularly fond of liquid_smoke's skin right now). I'll have to play some.
Thanks for letting us know this trick.

screenshots so that dumb people like me know what youre talkin about lol. I'd like to see the popup box on top of RR. And when you press this invisible button what happens? Phoco standalone just pops up on top of RR? If thats the case i guess its feasible until Guino gets the new phoco coding done.

Hi All,
Roy: The Skin I use on RR is BMV2 so the phone "button" is only on the menu screen. As far as I know there is no phone "button" on any other screens. I think you are high man...share some!
Zogg: If this still does not work (on Win2k system, works well on XP), set the opacity on "PopUpHide" attribute of Phococonfig to 10...it seems that too low opacity setting on Win2k does not work. Don't ask me...ask Bill Gates.
I use BMV2 since the Phocoskin of CNSBrushmetal fits like a glove and looks so integrated.
SonicXtacy02: When you press this invisible button (which reside above the phone "button" of RR), Phoco will pop up on top of RR (the trick is to use a matching phoco skin...CNSBrushmetal Phoco skin on RR BMV2 is great). Similarly when there is an incoming call, phoco will pop up on top of RR and lower your winamp volume in the same time.
