RR is running really slow...

Hi!

Today i did a fresh install on my desktop PC. I use it to test roadrunner and skins. Since then Road Runner runs really slow... I have to click on buttons 4-5 times before they work... Sometimes RR hangs completely. This is kinda strange, cause before the fresh install there was nothing wrong...

I used the same software as before, only now updated versions.

I use:

Roadrunner
Skin: LS3.0 ver4
Winamp 5

How is this possible? Did i miss something?
Thanx for your help!

I also noticed this today in my car setup.
When playing some folders/mp3's kinda use abnormal performance. hit the next/forward button normaly plays next song, but after latest update it only forwards the slider. My car setup hasn't changed since february 2005. Tomorrow I'll try a fresh (RR) install to see if it solves any problems.

Anyone have any luck figuring this one out. My menu selection are all extremely slow when selected for the first time (5 to 10 seconds). I have installed the latest flash. I have even reinstalled windows (as my carpc is still on my desk being tweaked). I used a different version of windows xp pro this time. I still have the same issues, extremely high cpu demand when starting and selecting menu buttons in RR. (all buttons excepte "minimize" and "Day/night", and mute). I have checked my ini file, looks good to me.

Also, maybe some has come across this problem. When I first touch the volume control (after rr boots), sound stops. I have to move the slider all the way to zero then back up to get sound. Once this is done volume controls function normally.

Which skin are you using, do you have the latest flash + OCX ? Can you post the first 3 lines of some of your .skin files ?

Your slider problem seems very much like a driver issue... some SB cards are known to have bad drivers... I'd suggest looking for an updated driver before anything.. RR only reports a slider at a certain location when/if it is being reported (from the drivers) as in that location... and it unmutes the line prior to any adjustments (exactly to prevent issues like yours)... I can only assume the sound card is saying the audio is at X% when you actually have no sound..

Still frustrated with the slow launch times, I went and uninstalled version dated 10/7/05 and put back version dated 5/12/2005.

All is back to normal now (about 3 to 4 times faster launching menu buttons).

In addition, the volume slider issue I was having is no longer.

I'm using the BMV2 and Zots skins just downloaded from the rr page. So far no issues.

If I can't get the newer versions to run right on my system, what major features will I be lacking?

Anyone else see that or have i been up too long? If im not seeing things then TheKingPlazza: is that how the file has it too?
