RoyN: we need at least your RR.ini posted...
Chuck: Niether do I! I'm looking into it.
[Edit]: Can someone with the transparency problem please try installing the latest verison from shockwave? Between 9 and 9a (or around the time of 9) I installed Vista and also installed the latest version of Flash...
I this the problem 'may' be due to that fact that I am compiling against the latest version of flash... Just a thought... I'm also looking into the code at the same time...
[EDIT 2]: Ok, it's because I have the new version of flash installed. Therefore, if you have issues with Flash transparency, please go and download / install the new version of flash player:
http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/...ShockwaveFlash
REMEMBER to untick the 'Install Yahoo toolbar'... unless you want the really annoying Yahoo toolbar that is...
Also, apparently you need IE to download and install the Flash player.
I've noticed that for somereason RR is saying ASCII or something when it starts. This could be a problem I introduced when I merged Guino's and my code. Shall take a look.

excellent, was that after upgrading your flash player???
Also, is anyone getting the same problem as me with BETA 11? It keeps saying something over and over again.

LanoX: I'm trying not to implement anything new for the min. I want to resolve the outstanding issues and then get this all released. AT that point we can decide on the priorities and split the work between the contributors.
Regarding my problem with it repeating a word... My Night skin setting was invalid...
Andrew

sorry guys. i know it is easy to criticize but are you not loosing focus on priorities?
for me rr is a great thing but as a long as it does not integrate with iguidance (or other) navigation software it is useless for a carputers.
why is there hardly no progress on this iguidance integration / sdk / mod issue? is it so hard to do or even impossible due to the lack of a skd?
cheers from bloody cold switzerland (spent the weekend setting up my jeeputer - switching from the touchscreen dash to the trunk having -11C)

hmm skippy, it seems that posting here fixed the problem...
Today it seems to be behaving properly....
can you explain please what the exact function of the 2 settings in RR config is? one is for max %, which I imagine is the maximum change allowed to the user-specified volume, and the other setting is the % at 80kph, which I imagine is that every 80kph, it would add x% to the volume? (If so, i think this isnt quite working, but ill check... maybe it is)
Also, is there anything special that needs to be done for gps gamma to work? Testing the gamma through the button shows me day/night gamma, but gps gamma is on, offset=0, and still no dimming at night.... any idea? (Im probably missing something really stupid... Ill try time-based today)

RoyN: First can you try the latest BETA (make sure you rerun RRConfig) and then can you send me your RR.ini (via PM).
upspace: This is open source software. If you have a priority, go ahead and implement it. I have it on my To Do List (if you searched)... I notice you've cranked up a massive 5 posts here, so I figure you are a big contributor...
You may also want to add this book to your Christmas llist, not sure if they have it in Swiss / Friench or German (I hear the French version did not sell well):
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/067...books&v=glance
So, in short.. RR will grow, the quciker it will grow will depend on the number of contributors. It will also become more stable, the quicker it will become more stable will depend on the number of testers.
Are you an RR user? Are you doing your bit (go beyond comming up with ideas)?
Thanks
Andrew

just tried to express what a newbie sees a a high priority.... and what is nice to have.
to make a product a success, you should try to learn user's worries and ideas, even if they are bloody suckers only. sometimes they are damn right - believe me!
a final note about your book recommendation - it proves one more time that (most) of you americans are f**ing idiots not knowing anything about what's going on outside your ghetto. hey you already got a new friend:-)

Actually i made a number of changes and it solved the problem. I upgraded to BETA 11 and upgraded flash but neither of those worked. So i deleted the screensaver.ini file that was posted in the 10/31 release thread and that turned out to be the culprit . All is well now though! And FYI, when telling people to upgrade their flash you should tell them to use IE. Upgrading in mozilla wont fix any rr related issues.

Just a small point as your in the EU - Try Freedrive or Mapmonky rather than Iguidence ( which is naffish any way ) - Both of those are free although you will need to buy some extra Destinator software plus they already fully intergrate with RR as well...

This is the last post I have to say on this before I get back to working on productive stuff, I'm a brit living in the US (as my Avator depicts), most people on these forums are aware of such a fact. Making such comments against nationalitiies (true or false) is not going to get you anywhere. Imagine if all the developers of RR were American (I know they are not, but just imagine); you think they will now help you or listen to you at all? Again, recommend the book, it's a great read.
