iguidance disappears in full screen - please help...

I tried searching for this topic before I opened a new thread but I didnt find anything related to this... When I click on GPS in rr.exe it launches iguidance like it is configured to do - i can click on the destination button and all is good, however, when I start clicking on some other buttons such as zoom out and full screen I start to have problems... - On the zoom in/out issue, if i click on view zoom in or zoom out, it works fine, but in the skin if i click on the zoom in button, it zooms in, but if i click on zoom out, it still zooms in... - also when i click the full screen button iguidance just seems to disappear (i cant even see the application it i hit alt+tab (I can see the application in alt+tab if it is not full screen))

it would help to say which skin you're using and if you're using anything like IGKeys, Skinbedder etc.

Sorry about that but the skin is CFX and it is just embedded in rr.exe using rrconfig.exe options as follows: (GPS Path: (set correctly to iguidance); Window Name: iGuidance; GPS Mode: External)

Also I know I'm hi-jacking my on thread here (lol) but im having a problem with the cd rip button - it loads the plugin (i know, because i see the new application in the start bar) but when i click on rip I used to have a progress number and now i dont also it creates a blank folder with a blank subfolder even if i put titles in the album and artist area.

Never mind - I jus reinstalled the CD Plugin and it worked perfectly - Something just got messed up when I tried to play with the settings...

as for your first question about the fullscreen, it sounds like you are using the fullscreen function inside of IG, you will have issues doing this as RR has already embeded IG into a window, and when you try to go fullscreen, IG (and other apps) try to fill the entire windows desktop. It dosent work like how video goes fullscreen as it dosent use an overlay. What you want to do is create a second .skin file that has a larger embed (Application) window and then create a button to switch between the two. You will not be able to achieve a 100% fullscreen view of the gps, you could be you would not have any controls on the screen to return to non fullscreen mode.

There is a work around for this, but it is not straight forward and requires the use of another app and a bit of config etc.

ok, ill have a solution for you in the morning reguarding running embeded apps in 100% fullscreen and still able to return to RR.

The solution will require you to run a small app (122k) that consist of a single button that's soul purpose is to send a command to RR, this command can be customized to whatever you want, but by default it will activate RR and send a keyboard shortcut to the RR window. You can set RR to do whatever you want when this keystroke is recieved.
The way i have it setup now:

When i go to fullscreen GPS (no RR controls on screen, all you see is IG) my small app is launched by RR and is allways on top. When you click the button it will exit FS mode and return RR to the previous non fullscreen GPS screen, and my small app is also closed at this time.

I have a simliar situation with RR, IG(IGuidance) and SKINBedder. When I launch IG embedded in RR, then Switch to, say Web,then go back to IG, My buttons dont control IG anymore. When I do push the buttons, IG kind of dissapears until I click the "embedded area"(where IG should be). I did see something someone used with Streets and trps that has "Activate" command in the code, Would that work for me? And what would I be activating, SKINBedder?

I have both MS Streets and Trips and Iguidance set up in RR

This is what I use for Streets and trips. Can something lke this be used for IG as well?
STREETS AND TRIPS
"ACTIVATE;- Microsoft Streets & Trips||SENDKEY;%VZI"

IGUIDANCE
"SENDKEY;{up}||GETFOCUS"
This works in IGudance as long as I dont go to another screen, well, seems to be only when I goto Videos or web. If I go to my music screen it still will work.

UPDATE
Ok, tried some experimenting. Opened RR. Went to WEB before I opened GPS and I get the same result as if I opened the GPS pane first then went to web. IG loses focus. It happens when I goto VIDEO, DVD and WEB before or after opening IG.If I go to Music, Radio, or any of the others, IG runs fine. Also, in Streets and Trips, everything Is fine regardless of what I do. It's almost like a "Lag" issue.

Have you make sure under RRConifg, you put the GPS Windows Name to be
'iGuidance'?

julikop, read the instructions and ExecTBL.ini. You have to specify the path to iGuidance there.

i think the problem you are having reguarding the fullscreen is because you are NOT using Skinbedder, the CFX skin is ment to use Skinbedder for IG by default.
Originaly i thought when you said you were clicking "FullScreen", i thought you were clicking the fullscreen button that is apart of the IG interface, but when i loaded up the CFX skin i saw that the button you were clicking is apart of the CFX skin.
When you click the Fullscreen button in CFX it loads another .skin file and attempts to embed Skinbedder, but since you arent using it, that is why IG disappears when you click it.
You should check the CFX thread for how to setup correctly to use the skin, there is a bunch of commands in the exectbl.ini file with paths etc.

I misunderstood your original problem, and created a solution to a different problem, so i wont bother posting the solution here as its better posted in its own thread as it has nothing to do with what you are trying to do.

Again, read CFX's ExecTBL.ini (not the one in RR's main folder). If you can't read, we can't help you.

Ok I got it - I was reading the main ExecTBL.ini in the main RR folder...
