Force re-loading of skin

Is there any way to force a skin to re-load on the fly. I've been making changes to zots.day skin to get it set up the way I perfer. However, any time I make a change, I have to close RR and restart it in order to view the changes. This really sucked when I was working on the GPS.skin. I'm looking for some sort of key combination that will force RR to reload the .jpg and .skin files for the skin (Guino: hint, hint) since these files appear to load into the memory when you view them for the first time (per session).

changes to the skin (i think you can change the skin and change it back) but i dont remember for sure. actually that might only change the jpgs not the coords.. or vice versa. i guess you could try it

That requires a bit more effort than what I'm looking for. Then that means I would have to select the skin that I'm currently working on. I'm looking more for something like F5 (Refresh) like everywhere else in Windows.

- Added "RELOADSKIN" command for skinners

That's exactly what I'm looking for (depending on how it's implemented). Curious of the date of this beta. Guess I'll just have to find out when it's done downloading. Thanks.

I just found this. It works a treat. I made a temporary button, and just used it to releoad the skin I'm working on.

Cool. I spent some time with it today. I added a button at 0,0 and a size of 2,2. Basically it's something that you won't hit with a touch screen but can get with a mouse (like what I've been using). Works like a charm. I will have so check out the F5.

I've been playing a little with the KeyTBL.ini and was able to fix a problem that I was have with the VISU when jumping for Menu > Audio and vice versa. I was having lots of problems getting my AutoIt script to work right but when I added hotkeys for the Menu and Audio screens and VISU, it worked perfectly and was a lot less complicated.

Damn, I wish I found this earlier - I've reloaded RR/FD so many times I'm sure I've worn a groove on my hard drive!

I use the "DAYNIGHTSKIN" command on a button in day and night skin to change to other skin then back which in effect reloads the skin.

Effective but it is still easier to do what I did as described in Post #8 or as liquid_smoke described in Post #6. Mine requires a quick addition to each .skin file (copy and paste via Notepad) while his will work with any skin.

Yeah the reloadskin command is great. Not that it matters, but just to let you know, you never had to reload RR to see changes, only relected the skin. I made a button a long long time ago that would open my skinbrowser, move down two spaces and enter - basically reloaded skin. But the F5 option is excellent.
