Gesture feature
Guino, one of my favorite uses for the gesture feature you added is actually not in-car use. I use RR in my home as well, with the new gesture feature, I can skip tracks and stuff while working in other windows without having to reactivate the RR window - BRILLIANT! Only problem is, I can't drag windows without changing the song or pausing it or something. My question, if enough people cared, would it possible to make the feature not active under some condition, like if I hold shift while dragging it would let me drag my mouse in peace?

thats possible to do... I can actually make that default (ignre gestures ih ctrl/alt/shift is pressed).. or I can make so that scroll-lock toggles the feature on/off..

i was thinking about the same thing.
But more on the lines of a RR command to turn off and another to turn on, so you can easily turn the feature off when loading specific screens in RR. For example, the flash draw plugin dosent mix to good with the gestures.
The scroll-lock sounds good, long as i can send this command when loading a screen. But im not sure a toggle would be best, for example. If i already have it set to off before i go into the screen, it would turn it on when i really want it to stay off.

Way ahead of you on this gestures thing.. the new version will have no-gesture areas and commands to toggle gesture readings on/off. If you were to not want gestures on an entire screen, a simple line (definition) on the .skin will do that.

No gesture areas would be sweet! I'm really digging the whole gesture thing, but on my gps screen it can get kinda screwy :-). Thanks for all the hard work guino!

Yeah, it was early this morning, I didn't realize I left out the explanaition. It was just funny how he had just got down modifying your last release for voice control, posted it yesterday, and NOW your talking about ANOTHER release.... if you revert back to your old weekly RR updates, I think he'll go crazy.

Sorry to bring this to a thread that loves Gestures, but I don't get much use out of them and I'm wondering if you can shut it off? I've noticed that my controls are a bit sluggish since that was added, and I'm still trying to get everything else working before I add new features. I only upgraded RR in hopes it would fix some GPS issues....
Thanks!

Notes:
-Gestures can be configured in gestures.ini -- instructions inside. You can test/tweak gestures with the tool included. This feature is ON by default, you can turn it off with this line in RR.INI: usegestures=false
-New commands/definitions are described in Skin Commands.txt
From Guino's Original post

Just wanted to comment on how much I LOVE gestures. I really am addicted at this point, I never use the next/prev track buttons anymore. I can't wait for the next RR that lets you have gesture-free areas.

I think command are skin commands.txt, but settings are in readme.txt
In this case, it is in readme.txt.

I love gestures to. But when I'm in FreeDrive, and wants to type an address with gestures, the RoadRunner app steals the focus and no letter is passed through FreeDrive.
Is this a bug? I would like it really when I can draw letters on the screen in FreeDrive.
