Problem to lauch app

Hi all!

I'm new here. First, just want to say that RR is really nice !

I have problem trying to lauch an application. I've read the entire forum for the past 2 days and found nothing !!

I want to lauch ACDSee to browse picture I have in the computer but it don't work.

The line is: "LOAD;PHOTO.SKIN||RUN;C:\8\acdsee8.exe;acdsee"

nothing append. I've also try without embeded.

I've replace the path with the path of another app (snes emulator) and it work great !

Does something prevent acdsee to be lauch from RR ??

Thanks alot !

Sorry for my poor english, i'm french

read skin commands.txt.. there's no need to use BOTH the load and the run command at the same time.. the load command can do everything at once.. now, if the snes emulator worked for you, then most likely it should work for acdsee too, but you need to make sure you have the right window title in the command -- read the "how to embed" faq to know how to get that information (in fact, this should be pretty much all you need to get this to work).

ok, thanks, but I've already try that (forgot to post it)

I've try "LOAD;PHOTO.SKIN;C:\8\acdsee8.exe;acdsee"

and it didn't work.

And as I said in my previous post I've try the 2 option without the embed fonction (the last ";acdsee") to see if could only launch the app but it didn't work

Dude, did you READ Skin Commands.txt?

Quote:
Example: "LOAD;EXTERNAL_GPS.SKIN;Destinator GPS;Destinator3.EXE;Destinator"

You clearly missed one component. Yours should be like this.
Quote:
"LOAD;PHOTO.SKIN;WHATEVER;C:\8\acdsee8.exe;acdsee"

This is exactly what I've try ! I have write it 2 post up !

with and without the "optionnal" speach text before the application path:

here are all line that I've try:

"LOAD;PHOTO.SKIN;C:\8\acdsee8.exe"
"LOAD;PHOTO.SKIN;C:\8\acdsee8.exe;acdsee"
"LOAD;PHOTO.SKIN;WHATEVER;C:\8\acdsee8.exe"
"LOAD;PHOTO.SKIN;WHATEVER;C:\8\acdsee8.exe;acd see"
"LOAD;PHOTO.SKIN||RUN;C:\8\acdsee8.exe"
"LOAD;PHOTO.SKIN||RUN;C:\8\acdsee8.exe;acdsee"

All those line work with other application (emulator, calc, etc) but not with ACDSee !!

Thanks !

Then there's something wrong with your ACDSee.

I don't know...

I've try with ACDSee 5 ans 8

I also try to install it directly to C:\8\ cause I was thinking RR was not able to read in "C:\program files\acd systems\acdsee\8.0\" (because of the "." in the path)

But nothing work !

I've also try on 2 computer

This command should work:

"LOAD;PHOTO.SKIN;Photos;C:\8\acdsee8.exe;ACDSe e 8 Photo Manager"

Now, when you click the button I assume that at least the photo.skin file is loaded and shows up ? Please try it and let us know.

do you have a shortcut to the exe? (that works)

if so right click, select properties and copy and paste the target here

Yes I have one, here's the target:

target: C:\8\acdsee.exe
start in: C:\8

I had also try to launch the shortcut instead of the app itselft but it didn't work.

then why in all your attempts to run it, posted above. have you stuck an 8 on the end?

ie acdsee8.exe instead of the above acdsee.exe.

that's why the exe don't run
