Question re vol+ and vol-, and PREV NEXT

I just got my system installed in the car and am doing some testing. I noticed that when I hold down the vol+ or vol- buttons, and then release them, the volume keeps going up or down, as if I were still pressing the button. Is this a touchscreen driver thing? I'm using the MTSVO-SC screen. Is there a way to get around this? I have my entire button area defined as NGX (no gestures) but that doesn't seem to be the cause.

I also noticed that if I hold down the NEXT button, which on my test system (no touchscreen) fastforwards through the track, it does fastforward but then keep fastforwarding even after I release it. If I press it again to stop it, it jumps to the next track. Do I really have to have a separate NEXT and FFWD button, or is there some way to combine the functionality of both? Basically I'd like to have it so that if I hold down the button, it fastforwards, but if I just press it briefly, it skips to the next track. And the same for PREV... if I hold it down, it would be nice to have it rewind, but when pressing briefly to have it jump back to the beginning of the track.

Even better would be to hold down PREV and have it rewind, press it once within the first 5 seconds of the track, have it jump back to the previous track, or press it briefly after the first 5 seconds, have it go back to the beginning of the current track. Any way to get these functions in a single button, one for the forward motion and one for the backward motion?

Try it with a mouse.. that's not supposed to happen.. if it works (right) with a mouse, you'll know it's your TS..

Yeah it's definitely the TS, because it doesn't happen when I connect a mouse for testing.

Maybe someone else with an MTSVO-SC can chime in and give some pointers on how they get around this. The monitor uses the egalax drivers, so maybe not just people with the MTSVO because a few other monitors use those drivers.

There are some options I believe that enable a click and hold, if held for a long time until tapped again. Try that. Hold it until it starts going by itself and then tap somewhere and it should stop.

If that happens, then just uncheck tyhe box that allows that. I believe it is somewhere in the Touchkit options.

Yeah there is a setting in the Touchkit software for "enable constant click" or something, but it doesn't seem to help. I'll have to give it another try tomorrow, and am also going to update the drivers to the newest version.

I did notice that if I only hold down the button for 2-3 seconds, it is fine, but if I hold it down to FF or REW in a longer song, for example holding the button down for 7-8 seconds, that's when it happens...

it MAY have to do with the way your TS might simulate a right click after a few seconds.

I installed the newest drivers from their website and it seems to be working properly though I only tested a few times so far by FF'ing through a 16 minute track and stopping at around 14 minutes, and it released the FF function. The only thing I don't like about the new drivers is there is only a 4-point calibration and no 25-point like in the older drivers, but it seems to be working ok.
