Question Please Help Me with the M3U Playlists

I've been using Winamp in my CarPC since day one.
I've made my own custom skin and have had it for a year now.
Today I decided to switch to a Front End, and liked RR the best.
I'm having a problem with the Playlists however...

You see, I have 5 .m3u playlists I've created for Winamp (on average 1,000 songs in each). The playlists are sitting in "D:\", for instance:
Code:
D:\Hip-Hop.m3u D:\Techno.m3u ...etc...

The music is stored in "D:\Music\"

Using either the Brushed Metal or Alpine skins, I'm simply Unable to point RR to the playlists.
I can, however, browse the folders and choose the songs based on the "Artist - Album" folders I've set up.

I tried to fool RR into loading the playlist by first loading it in Winamp and then turning RR on, but although the playlist would work fine, it wouldn't display the correct track names.

Please help me figure out how to individually open any of the 5 playlists in Road Runner.

You can either:
-move your playlists onto D:\Music
-Create a BROWSE.RRL link to D:\ (There's a FAQ on doing this)
-Remove the path limit so you can browse "up" to D:\ (pathlimit=false in RR.INI)
-Create buttons to load the playlists directly (See LOADLIST in skin commands.txt)

EDIT: Ah....beat me to it.... : )

Use this: (browsing multiple locations in RR)
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/rr-faq/45907-how-do-i-browse-multiple-locations-audio-video.html

And in RRconfig either add .m3u to the list of supported audio files or leave it blank (which should allow all files to show up, I think).

But I just do what that first link says and have a browse.rrl file in my music folder, and in my playlist folder and when I go into the audio browser it shows a "PLAYLIST" entry at the top that'll take you to whatever directory you have specified in the browse.rrl file. Then you can just click on the playlist, works like a champ here.

To let everyone know, the tips above helped with the problem.
I first set the pathlimit to false, then added the .m3u extension into the supported audio files field (along with .mp3 and .wma), and eventually put a browse.rrl that points towards the playlists into the Music folder.

Thanks a lot for that!

A quick side-question:
If I leave the Supported Audio Files field empty, which filetypes would be automatically recognized by RR?
Are they the same as Associated File Types in Winamp [Winamp-->Options-->General Preferences-->File Types]?

From readme.txt:

Code:
audiofiles=.M3U,.MP3,.WMA,.OGG,.AAC,.MPC,.VQF Set up the types of audio files to show in the directory list (above listed the defaults)

Angry

For the life of me, I cannot get M3U playlists to work.

I made my own skin which uses a file system browser instead of the normal RR playlist paradigm. I can browse to an M3U file, and it'll load the playlist into Winamp, but what RR thinks is playing is different from what's in the Winamp playlist.

In the example below, you can see in
(1) that I loaded a normal folder into the RR playlist. You can see that RR and Winamp are synchronized.

(2) On this screenshot, I switched to my test page which has a button using "LOADLIST;F:\mp3\dance.m3u;My Playlist". Note: I haven't actually pressed the Load M3U button yet, so you can see that both RR and Winamp are still synchronized in terms song names.

(3) Here's where the problems begin. I press Load M3U which uses the LOADLIST command and now you can see that Winamp properly loads the contents of Dance.M3U, but RR is still showing the old playlist.....

What am I doing wrong? I have pathlimit=false in RR.ini, and i don't need any RR Links (RRL) to point to F:\MP3 since it's the root of my music path already. Why does RR not become aware of Winamp loading the playlist?

Thanks
