plugin idea/feature request: RRnotepad
i think this could be usefull for a lot of reasons.
native text file reader/writer
I would like to have a dir that just has a bunch of .txt files and RR show me all the files in a playlist and when loaded will load the txt file into a Textbox w transparent background.
I want to also be able to create new txt files from inside RR and edit existing files with the osk.
Currently RR will see a dir of txt files and list them in the playlist, but tries to play them as audio.
technicaly this seems like it should already be possible. I doubt rr has any problems reading txt files, we have an osk, there is a txtbox object, savetoini etc saves the files. The only thing missing it seems is for them to be pulled into there own interface with some rules of what to do etc.
you can store the txt files on your thumb drive and keep stuff like todo's, notes, other info etc. And there txt files so you can edit them anywhere.

Along those same lines, is there a way to send text from RR to the Windows clipboard, akin to Chuck's Song list importing "trackname" data? I want to send that data to the clipboard to paste into an external program.

A notepad plugin wouldn't be hard to do, just time consuming.. Chuck indeed made a to-do list and a track pad strictly out of RR's features. For a touchscreen I like the scribble pad a lot more than a notepad.. but that's just me.
I can easily add commands to send/receive data to/from the windows clipboard.

i love the scribble pad also, but has the limit of using your finger to write so you can only really get so much info on the screen and the data isnt as portable as a txt file.
Maybe this could be done in flash by one of flash guru's
Or maybe it might be easier for it to be an external application like notepad, then all RR would need to do is know to execute a specific command when you try to load a .txt file?

Fixed my clipboard issue, with a little help fron Sonic and Chuck. I now have a record button in my Audio (Internet Radio), XM, and FM players that initiates Loop Recorder using the info from "Trackname" to create the filename:
B00,140,71,40,40,"RELOADLIST;SETVARBYCODE;curtrack ;trackname||RUN;C:\Program Files\Loop Recorder\LoopRecP.exe|-v:7-17 -q:s:8000 -f:"C:\Documents and Settings\GizmoQ\My Documents\My Music\New\Active Quarter\Last Month\This Month\$curtrack$%n.mp3" -c:05:00 -s","Loop Recorder"
I have to reloadlist on internet radio to be sure current song is in trackname; copies trackname to a global variable; run looprecorder with selected soundcard channel, volume setting, stereo 8K compression to reduce CPU usage;designate filename with global variable and numeric increment in case I record the same again; sets timer to stop recording and save in 5 minutes in case I forget I'm recording and automatically close the program after save is complete. Works amazingly well ~95% as long as no special characters are in the filename (the other 5% I just copy trackname to song reminder list).
Is there a way to delete or replace special characters in global variables?

Instead of a 5 minute timer just set a command in the onsongstart then it will stop at the end of the song
