It's saying it can't locate your RoadRunner installation. You'll need to click on SELECT and choose the directory where it is installed at. Ensure that rr.exe (if you have a really old version), or roadrunner.exe are in that folder. Some people were having issues with AV killing/deleting roadrunner.exe as well... so that 'might' be the issue...

I have problem with update. First I removed AVG so no problem with Trojan warning.
I downloaded latest updater and unzipped to RR folder (fresh installation 11/16/2006).
Updater showing progress bar when downloading update, but there is no activity over internet connection
and when I click “update” it showing progress but ending with error.
Weird thing is after this I have “roadrunner.exe” missing in my RR folder. Any idea what is wrong?

hmm well looking at my code of the new version's rewrite, I see my error. It checks for file existance after the download before going to extract, but the archive is created whether or not the download is successful, be it only 0 bytes if unsuccessful. So I've got to make one small change to the code... I'll have the new updater uploaded to all the mirrors soon. Sorry about that folks.

Okie doke, the updater has been updated.
It now verifies the file sizes of the version on the server and the version downloaded. If they don't match, you'll get a Status of 'Download Failed'. It should resolve the issues encountered from Guino's server being down without warning Just download the new version and drop into your RR folder.

I'm not sure, this might be a question for Guino or someone else with more programming knowledge. It sounds like an intergration issue with Winamp... but I honestly don't know.

I downloaded the latest installer, updater and binary zip file. When zone alarm or nod32 are enable, i receive a virus warning. Ok I trust there is no problem. But the strange is that even with antivirus disabled I canoot find (after the installation) the roadrunner.exe. Only this file is missing from the installation. Is it something that I should now about the installation?

Hmm.. Well the order would be use the installer. extract the new updater into the RoadRunner folder and run that (it must be run from the RoadRunner folder or you will end up with a missing roadrunner.exe file). That will download and update your RR installation with the newest binary. Or you can just extract the new binary into the RoadRunner folder. That should be all you need to do... nothing to special about the installer.

Thanks for the quick response. I dit run the installer. (no roadrunner.exe file created). I unzipped the updater in the root folder and I replaced the old RR_Updater.exe with the new. I run the rr_Updater.exe and I click the check your version button. Nothing happens.

The updater still can't find roadrunner.exe. after you extract the binary into the roadrunner folder, and refresh the folder, to you still see the roadrunner.exe file? Before running the updater?

No, I downloaded 3 times the binary zip file. All the times when it tries to unzip the roadrunner.exe file I get the message tha the file is missing. I can see it in the file list of the binary zip but i cannot extract it right
