You need to change it to something else. iGuidance will manage the com port on it's own.

thats the problem, that they are both set to the same com port.
AFAIK IG will not manage a com port on its own, you have to set it or scan for it, but once you do it once, it will remember.
What you need to do is either disable the com port in RRConfig, set it to zero
OR, do a search for xport which is a com port splitter. Xport will allow you to have multiple applications connect to the same gps device, by default gps devices only allow one connection to its port at a time.
When you split the com port you can then create virtual comports that have different numbers but all contain the same data. So you can RR, IG and other gps apps all running at the same time.

To sum it all up... You can't have RR and IGuidance set to the same port. They will both try to access it and RR will win! So... just change the port in RRConfig and you'll be fine.

Yeah ditto.
Just installed my GPS receiver, IG, ran into the same problem. A Quick "Search" and bingo! All's good.

Hey, in RRConfig, what is the "Window Name" for IGuidance? (Not the new 3.0, the older one)
Thanks for the help.

Seriously? Damnit, then I guess something else is going wrong.
Well, I'll try the com port and see if it does the trick. Thx

well the lack of a window name will not cause IG to not connect to the gps device. The window name is only used so RR can embed the correct app window.

I think what I was doing was opening an iguidance window first, then opening RR and wondering why it would work minimized, but not through the GPS button.
