push pause to return to the start of your playlist
I've been using road runner for about 2 months now and I love it. very slick interface, and good integration with my GPS software. I do however, have a couple of problems I'm hoping people here can shed some light on.
If I'm listening to a playlist, and start listening to track N. I can pause and play just fine. However, if I'm listening to track N and then I let road runner cycle on its own to track O, when i press the pause button, it jumps back to track N, and begins playing it! pause only seems to properly work when you have selected the song by hand. I've experimented and have found regardless of how many tracks you let road runner cycle through, it will jump back to the first one that was playing the moment you press pause. If you track forward, or track backwards, or select a track from the playlist pause will work fine for that one song, until road runner switches to the next file and the problem appears again.
I've also got some volume issues. I've got a remote that controls the master volume of the PC, and it does not seem to get along with the volume up and down buttons on road runner. I'd really like the volume buttons to adjust the master volume, rather then the wave, or winamp volume (whichever it's doing now).
So those are my issues. if anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong, or whats going wrong with my setup, it'd be appreciated.

ive never seen the first problem you are having. Pause works fine for me no matter what else is going on with every version of RR since i started using it.
What skin are you using and what version of winamp are you running?
As for the volume. You can set RR to control whatever line you want it to. The skin that you are using also plays a big part in this as the skin itself can be set (by default by the author) to control a different line or the winamp volume.
I also have various means of changing the volume between my carputer and laptop and RR always updates the volume status when its changed externally.
In RRConfig.exe under Music Settings> "Map Master Volume to Control Line:" is where you can choose what line RR will change when the master volume is changed. If the skin you are using is set to control a different line (like winamp vol) you will have to edit this in the .skin files for every .skin that has volume controls and or volume sliders. The sliders should have "MASTER" as the code to change the master volume.
What program or by what means are you changing the volume from outside of RR, girder or similar ect.?

I'm using the default skin that comes with RR, Silver and black, I think its called freedom, but i cant check at the moment as I'm on holiday. I'm also running an oldish version of winamp ( I think i installed 2.95)
Ive got a Gyration Media Center remote for volume control. Ultimately I'd like to get it setup to work with Girder (When i get around to figuring out how to use it). but for now it just acts as my mouse and volume control. It adjusts the master volume slider through some driver level stuff (it does it automagically).

freedom is not the default skin that comes with RR. The default skin for RR is BMV2. You may be having issues because freedome is a flash skin, i have no idea how it would react to external volume changes, and this is likely your problem. Normal skins dont have this issue. Also, if it does come down to the issue being the flash based freedom skin, you should know the freedom skin is no longer in dev and the author i believe has left the forums, so the likeliness of any updates is very slim.

I have the same problem as you are having when pausing songs. I am also using the Freedom skin. I am just used to it although it does get annoying.

I just started have that problem with freedom. It's the weirdest thing. I've been using freedom from the beginning and never noticed it until yesterday.
Edit:
I'm not having the problem on my desktop. Something most be going on. I'm pretty sure that my carputer wasn't doing it before.

just tick the "LIST FOLLOWS SONG" option in RRConfig.. this is happening because RR advances to the next song but the previous one is still HIGHLIGHTED so if you press PLAY it will start playing the SELECTED song, if you press it again it will pause. With the option above ON, RR will auto highlight the new songs when they start playing so PLAY/PAUSE should work without having to select it first.
