I made this little app the other day, it uses SAPI 5.1 (i recommend the Nextup.com Kate Voice)
Simply launch the app followed by what you want it to say (encased in quotes)
Hope its of use, as I know a few people were looking for tts stuff..

Text to Speech Engines
Acapela's Heather is the BEST TTS voice I have heard to date. I have tried the Neo SPeech & AT&T voices as well. The only problem, is the company has been sitting on that voice for 3 years, and I see no time soon that they are going to offer it for sale. You can download a 30 time limited demo at THIS LINK
My home automation uses a lot of Text to speech stuff to read announcements, email, security status, weather Announce incoming phone calls ect ect.
I just wish I could get my hands on the Heather voice permanently

Woah, I have heard some good voices before but this one blew me over!
The name of the Voice is "Lee" from RealSpeak. This is the page with their other sample voices.

I have crystal and mike from microsoft natural speek. They both sound pretty good. My friend bought them for some R&D stuff. Then i loaded them on my work pc to play with. I wrote a quick prank caller program with it. That way when im bored at work i can call other departments and mess with them.
