ok, a bit more learning & I now know that you MUST completely remove ANY aplication that the upgrade advisor flags as a red X & incompatable, as well as ALL aplications that even give a yellow flag as to being a maybe or partial incompatability....

then, an upgrade should go of clean.....

gonna try one now

just thought I'd share that too

I have had vista installed in my car for about a month. I am just now trying to integrate RR.

My setup is all brand new, vista was cheap, and xp would not give me an activation code so....

Aero is running.

Well for ****s and giggles I am trying out RR and Vista Ultimate 32bit...

Running on a P4M 2.2Ghz with 512Mb RAM. Also the Nov. 2007 release of RR.

First off, the OS runs more smoothly than I thought. I got flash installed and RoadRunner started. Changed the volume control to Master and that works. However everything is choppy. The flash logo spins fine. I press a button though and there is a noticeable lag. Really annoying. Then I tried to embed IGv4. With or without clipping it would not embed. It just showed up on top of RR with the full menu bar and all. Froze RR a few times. Really annoying.

So that was a fun experiment, XP goes back on tomorrow.

Try more memory. 512 MB is the minimum requirement for Vista Home. The others recommend 1GB.

I have Vista freshly installed with 1GB memory and RoadRunner runs almost perfectly. I get random blue screens and restarts all day on my current XP system so i am trying to get Vista working. My only issue is that most of the skins show a white screen until I run the mouse cursor over the buttons. I have tried disabling windows aero but I get the same thing. So for right now the only skin I have gotten to work perfectly is Digital FX 2.5

Anyone else have any suggestions?

did you try changing the compatibility properties for the RoadRunner executable? I have no problems with the following settings: compatibility for win xp, sp2.. disable visual themes.. disable desktop composition and disable display scaling on high DPI settings.

512Mb is plenty for the car. If it doesnt work on 512 and a P4, then **** it.
