When exactly are you getting this error? Because there isn't an installer for the SkinInstaller. Just a ZIP archive with the program file inside. Just extract to a folder, anywhere, but preferably in your Road Runner directory,
i.e.
C:\Program Files\Road Runner\RRSkinInstaller\
Then just run the program, preview the skins... and download the skin you want.
Are you referring to the Install Process of Installing the SKIN?
If so, what skin were you trying to install?

well...
when i go to : http://w3bma5t3r.com/modules.php?nam...op=getit&lid=9
and click "road runner skin installer" it downloads RR_Skin_Installer.exe
I click the .exe
it comes up with "
welcome to the road runner skin installer program
I click next>
it comes up with the info screen saying its created by you and is designed to help people install skins
I click next>
it prompts me to select a version to install: Triton, LSX, Simplistique or Chucks.
Doesnt matter which i select
Then i press next>
select the rr skins dir
click next>
then finish
then i get the error:
Road runner skin installer has noit been totally installed because of the following reasons:
7za.exe This file contains invalid data
YOu will have to run this utility again to completely install Road Runner Skin INstaller
I click Exit

Well the link is good and the files are there. Just tried it myself... Sounds like your AV is killing my program. I used AutoIt to create the installer and a few AV companies consider all the programs created with it, as a whole, viruses because a few bad apples have used the program to create them, though it's like any other language... it is what you make of it. Anyone can turn something good into something bad.
I can guarantee you it's good to go, you'll just need to turn off Advanced Heuristics Detection. It creates a lot of false positives. It does the same thing with my Road Runner Installer and Updater. You'll find many many threads about the RR Installer and Updater w/ the same problem, and same solution.
Cheers

thanks again, you're right. Re-clicked the link and downloaded to my system hdd with no problems. I downloaded it directly onto my portable hdd which may have been the problem before (disk may be full), as I don't have any anti-virs (i think they are bs).
Seems to be installing ok so far, thanks again.

I've been trying to get the installer to work, but each time I attempt to install a skin, it seems to be working, then all of a suddent the error "install failed" pops up. Any clue what might be causing this? Does the installer run on VMWare?
Thanks!

skin server down? Trying to get this working but no luck... anyone?
If a new skin server is needed - we might be able to use my webhost? Not sure what requirements need to be met...
