Sirius SC-C1 and MitchJS interface integrated in RR problem

I am having an issue that I can't figure out how to resolve. I am using a Sirius SC-C1 with mitchJS USB interface, integrated into RoadRunner.

Problem is after setting the channel, and a short period of time. I can no longer control Sirius, I have to reload RR (if not twice) to regain control of Sirius to change the channel etc.

Is there any reason for this? or something I can do to fix it.

Thanks
Chris

Are you using a USB hub of some sort ? those are typically communication issues.. RR has plenty of error correction functions to re-gain control of those types of situations.. you may have to build a RS232 comm log to help debug this issue.

Hi Guino, Thanks for the reply!

I am using a USB Hub, but the interface is not connected through it. Just the touchscreen and powermate. The interface is connected directly to one of the ports on the motherboard.

How would I go about in building a RS232 log? I may be able to debug this myself if I can see such a log.

Just download portmon from sysinternals.com -- it's freeware, run it and tell it to log everything on the port of your SC-1 and tell it to log it in HEX .. leave it running minimized, run RR and use Sirius normally, when it stops, open the window and see if anything is coming in from the serial port.. if nothing, it could be a connection/USB/adapter board issue... if it seems to keep sending data and RR is still unable to change channels, maybe a software issue with this specific tuner -- in wich case, I'd ask you to save/zip/post the log you made.

Sounds good, I will grab portmon and report back in a day or so. Thanks again!

Figures the minute I begin to troubleshoot the problem it disappears. I will assume it was a cabling issue. I have moved the carputer from the truck to the apartment a number of times, this time may have corrected the problem. I will keep an eye on it and use portmon again if it comes up.

Aside from a few issues with my phone, RR is perfect. I will be donating to the cause shortly. Thanks for all your hard work.

Help Trying To Get Sirius To Work With My Rr

Hello Salmizar,

Hey I need help, i have the same setup with roadrunner and I can't get my sirius to work at all!!! I am fairly new to rr so i might be just doing something wrong. I went into settings and just added my port that my MJS Sirius is plugged into. Then I just saved everything and clicked on sat radio and nothing happens. Do you know what I could be missing here? Please help if you can.

I am using the default skin is that a problem maybe?

Thanks Phil

Try using a different skin. Also, you can run another program like Mitch's SatAMP and see if it can control the Sirius tuner.
