Maybe found something that would get it working...

something along the lines of this:

I think we just need the FILE; added to it. We'd need something to update the indicator on screen and song change though. I'm going to try this out later, and report my results.

further villification:

This would change on the fly without even needing to reload anything.

We would just change it to

"SETVAR;myart;$songpath$folder.jpg"
or
"SETVAR;myart;$songpath$*.jpg"

I tried songpath, trackpath, filepath, etc. and nothing seemed to show the image on the indicator...

I tried making a variable out of the info above, I tried SETVAR onskinstart, onsongstart, and had a timer set up too.

What am I missing? what do we need to do to get this to work right?

Think the easiest solution would be to have a few different mp3art plugins with a different name in them lets say albumart1 for mp3art1, albumart2 for mp3art2, etc...
I have tried to rename and register it again, but that doesn't do it either. It sees the same art. In the above way it might see it as different art, only problem, you need to know how to alter the dll

Another solution is to close the screen when your done with it put /DISCARDABLE in that skin-page and it will unload . Only thing, it only works with an “end” screen
So the audio player no solution. But the albumlist it might be a solution

For an and-page this works: ad /DISCARDABLE to the and skin, and it wil close this page when you exit.
To bad it doesn.t work for the menu and the album-player, ther not and pages, so when you use it there, you end up with an empty screen.

One warning, when you edit the skin in the skineditor, the /DISCARDABLE disapeers, so you have to put it back with a text editor.

The code of the album info page:

I have reworked my skin volvoskinV2 and put a few reloadskin commands in it. This will only work if you have a light skin, otherwise it will take to much time.
So its not the solution, just a workaround. I didn't get it all, the picture button on the albumart returns alway to menu, instead of also the audio page.

I've got a simpler fix than messing with the /discardable tag:

Quote: Originally Posted by monkeyracer View Post

and then in rr.ini add:

Code:
coverfile=folder.jpg

and exectbl.ini, add:

Code:
"ONSONGSTART","RUN;$skinpath$extalbumart.exe"

and where you want the image to show up:

Code:
IXX,,,,,"FILE;$ctrackpath$$coverfile$"

and that seems to work well.

Thanks, Sal R., all the credit to you for this one.

So, try this, it should work.

here's the script, just make sure to change .txt to .exe and save to your skin's path:
Attached Files
File Type: txt extalbumart.txt (250.0 KB, 27 views)

So this script go in conjunction with the commands above? Will it work if coverfile=*jpg?

It doesn't seem to work,

leave coverfile=*.jpg
and add this

Code:
artfile=folder.jpg

then in the codes above, instead of

Code:
IXX,,,,,"FILE;$ctrackpath$$coverfile$"

use this:

Code:
IXX,,,,,"FILE;$ctrackpath$$artfile$"

I just tested this and it works.
