Lightbulb EQ issue and Temp Fix

I was on a journey to figure out why everytime i saved an EQ preset in RR it also saved the volume, and as discussed in the LSX VOID thread we have figured its a bug with the way RR saves the information to the .pst in the RR directory they are named ROCK.pst RAP.pst ect ect

they look like this

Code:
0 36 15 20 27 31 34 25 19 16 13 10 50 0 655 655 0 0

This is what ive figured out about the file

Code:
130 - winamp VOL 255=max 31 - preamp VOL 0=max 31=middle 63=off (same below) 31 60 hz band 31 170 hz band 31 310 hz band 31 600 hz band 31 1k band 31 3k band 31 6k band 31 12k band 31 14k band 31 16k band 50 MASTER BAL 50=LEVEL 100=full RIGHT 65692 Master VOL (65692=100%) 32846 Wave VOL (32846=50%) 16461 SW Synth VOL (16461=25%) 32846 Phone VOL (0=0%) 32846 AUX VOL 32846 VIDEO VOL 32846 Mic VOL 32846 LINE VOL 32846 CD VOL 0 Nothing on mine 0 ditto (Are these 0's supposed to be the bass and treb? cause i could not control them in my .pst files)

A little advice from the MASTER VOL DOWN i figured out that if you open your windows volume control and go to the properties and put a check mark to see EVERY "slider" it will show you the order of the inputs that follow the MASTER VOL in the .pst files

ONCE you know how RR maps your volume you can edit your .pst files for the "temp fix" i took my .pst file opened it in notepad and simply deleted the number for the MASTER VOL and now the eq works as desired

in the next release of RR can we get it to not save the volume presets because in my opinion an EQ should only control the FREQ and the PREAMP levels

NOTE: my RRconfig is setup to map the main vol control to the master so keep that in mind as you play

Hope this helps people with similar issues

Because I use a Tablet that gets used for many other things, I appreciate that all the volume presets are reset when I run RR. I can count on everything returning to exactly what I want for the car environment no matter what I've been doing/watching/listening to in the meantime. I have come to rely on this so as to not blow out (clip) my stereo on bootup.

yeah and when RR boots it should still "take off" from the last saved position for the boot up of the system just when you switch eqs the volume will stay the same, like when im listening to something with low vol and i want to change the eq but the vol was saved at 60% or so volume goes up way to high, i only edited out that one line so that the MAIN vol was never effected

People, people, please actually READ your skincommand.txt file!!! You would be amazed on how many problems you could either fix or make work like you want them too.

Example... the preset cmd as copied and pasted straight form the above file.

All you need to do is to change the button code for the preset buttons you are using to how you would like them to work, its just that simple...

Quote:
"PRESET" - Preset Save/Load dynamic command. You can use this dynamic command to load or save presets of
volumes and winamp equilizer. This works by saving a .PST file in RR's folder. Presets can be
saved by pressing and holding the button with this dynamic command. Presets can be loaded by
simple/quick press of the button of the same code. Optionally you specify the command to save
only the Windows Mixer Info or Only the Winamp/Player Info or only Audio lines but no master.
Example: "PRESET;ROCK" (load/save "ROCK".pst file -- EQ & All Mixer Volumes)
"PRESET;SOFT;MIXER" (load/save "SOFT".pst file -- Mixer info only)
"PRESET;LOUD;MIXERNOMASTER" (Windows Mixer only -- No Master)
"PRESET;JAZZ;WINAMP" (load/save "JAZZ".pst file -- Winamp data only)
"PRESET;JAZZ;PLAYER" (load/save "JAZZ".pst file -- Player data only)

Good to see you did some more reading... Ya that IS the RR bible or whatever you want to call it.

I even keep a copy right on my desktop for quick reference, or to check before posting a solution to a problem with the correct code syntax.

Hi,

after reading the RR bible and here, I have a question.

I would save only the Equalizer Settings from Winamp - without the Volume Settings (Line´s) from Windows/Winamp.
In Winamp itself this goes, but the "Preset" Command in RR have no Possibility, to set this.

How can i get this?

You did read post#4, right(the quoted part)? If you did, you'll need to do some skin editing to get what ever you want saved for you presets.

Yes, I read & test it.

Preset;Rock does not function, it save the equalizer + volume.
Preset;Rock;Mixer does not function, it save only the Windows line volumes.
Preset,Rock;Winamp has no function, or I am too blindly to see.
Preset;Rock;Player like above.

What recommend you in my Case?

it would have to mean "Preset;Rock;NoMixer" (no Windows Mixer).

I do see no way of just loading the EQ settings without setting something else...

So I have added a "EQ" setting to the preset cmd that will only load the eq for the next update.

Thank you for help!

Maybe I understand the command-possibility´s false, but I think in such a way, when I adjust in Car One Equalizer-preset and it would saved with the actual Volume(That could be a very high volume ):

Then, after a long time and other Equalizer Presets, i load the Preset, that i wrote above. And then it set me a very high Volume(which also could be the PreAmp Setting)
My thinking false?
