Failed Hiding of Start Bar, Minimize Errors

Hey Guino. This issue, is well, its not technically a bug, more like Req, but Ionno, I'll let you decide.

Anyways, heres the deal. I run custom Shell loader which allows me to chance the order of items.

When things start Explorer First, then RR, everything is chill, works as should.

But, to save boot time and for other reasons, I load RR first, and 10 seconds later, I launch explorer. When I use this boot order, RR fails to recognize the Explorer "Shell" and more importantly the start menu. So, when I launch applications, many times RR fails to hide the start menu, and the minimization function becomes useless because when rr minimzes, it isn't avail on the start menu to come back.

So anyways, I know its me and my boot order, but can you do something to make this kind of start system works? or no? Like put a delay timer that will contiuosly attempt to find the start menu and do the appropriate "catching" for hiding and the minimze features???

Thanks, Mark.

The minimize feature should certainly work no matter what because it finds the taskbar at the time you minimize/restore RR.

You can use the HIDEWINDOW command to hide the taskbar after explorer has been launched, but you'd have to execute it by some button.

Hmm, interesting.

Cause my minimize feature does not work when RR is Launched First, then Shell. But it does work properly the other way around. I even hid the taskbar for a moment to make sure it was not hiding in the background, which was not the case.

Maybe you want to compare the window information (using winspectorspy) of the taskbar when launching it first, with the info when launching it afterwards.. If RR is not having any effect on it, chances are that the window info is different... if you can post your findings I can try to add support for it.

Hey Guino, sorry for taking so long on getting back to this issue. Just been very busy. Anyways, haven't had time to diagnose this any further, but what I did notice recently, is that when I change a skin through RR (not config) and apply the change, it will capture the taskbar as should be and works like it should.

Not this is much, but maybe some info from what sequence of commands occur during a change skin.
