Now that i watched the video, i realize mine is not doing the same thing: After the message saying the changes are being made, my install goes back to the playlist (in the audio player) and the tag DO NOT change from what it was. In the video you can see the tag change and everything stay in the editor screen until you manually exit.

I went back to the audio browser and reloaded the playlist but the tag still had the old info.

I made sure i was looking at "tagartist", "tagtittle" etc. labels and not "trackname", "tracktittle" etc.

Funny thing is when i look at the track in tag&rename, the tag IS changed to the new information i put in.

For some reason it's not refreshing in the playlist..

If i could just figure out why the edit screen doesn't stay after the info is written.

Appreciate any help..

Have you checked Show ID3 Playlist and/or Show ID3 Browse in RRConfig

Just did but i don't like how conjested the playlist have become and also some strange characters are showing now. I'm going to go back and uncheck those settings.

made a skin up and all that works great on home pc

but not in the car , now i'm putting this down to another mini-xp fault,
but i can not work out what, do i need Windows Media Player installed or some thing.

i get to edit track and so on names but when i hit enter i get and object error.
i have also noticed that the tag display works on home pc and not car.

i'm starting to think this mini xp is not such a good idea.

all settings in rrconfig and winamp are the same on home pc and car pc

That is it exactly, i was looking for that threat but couldn't find it. Thanks for pointing it out.

@Capri28 - Do a full install of XP on the CarPc, it will save you a lot of agravation in the long run - speaking from experience.

you are right everytime i try something new mini-xp screws it up ,
i only did it for boot timing.

i like to share my work,

treetop777, what skin are you using?, the editor calls "EDIT" as the last command,this is what it means in my skin ExecTBL.ini.

Code:

"EDIT","MENU;tag_editor.skin"

i know i forgot to put this in the README file in the package. !sorry!
so, as long as you have "EDIT" to call your skin for tagging you will not go back to it, instead you will stay in the audio player.another thing is that you need to have a playlist in your audio player, or whatever skin you see while the popup says "WRITING NEW INFO". you said that the tags are been changed, that means road runner reads the new info.try "RELOADLIST".
and if you still have issues tell me what are the steps that you did.or just use my skin.

I made a matching skin for iDrive SE. Right now I'm using Cranium to test and using all your files and graphics.

I didn't quite understand what you explained above so let me tell you what i did:

1. copied the folder "tags" to the RR folder so it's like this c:\program files\roadrunner\tags

2. Ran the .bat file to register the .dll and it said successful

3. Copied every thing inside the "add to skin" folder (except add to exectbl.ini) to the cranium skin folder.

4. Opened the file "add to exectbl.ini" in notepad and copied the content to the end RoadRunner's ExecTBL.ini

5. Created a button in cranium with "MENU;tag_editor.skin" command.

When i press the button, the editor screen (which matches polaris) comes up; i select a tag to edit and the cranium OSK pops-up; I type something in and then hit "enter", the "writing new info" sign pop-up - here is where things are not working right - When the sign goes away, it goes right back to the audio player and i DON'T see any changes. In the video, it stays in the editor screen and the changes happen right-then.

How to make it stay in the editor screen until i exit manually is the question.

Polaris is a great skin, just not in my color scheme - let me have it in red and an option to change the logo and it would be a winner. I like Elco much better; are you done revamping it yet? I can test it for you

ok, like i said, add this line in the ExecTBL.ini

Code:

"EDIT","MENU;tag_editor.skin"

and use

Code:

"EDIT"

to launch the editor.thats all you need.

i updated the download with the instructions.

I use this plug-in a lot, most my library are single track downloaded from P2P and who knows what the tags contain - if any at all. Thanks for this tool.

Sometimes i would just like to just add or delete a word from the tag; as it stands right now, you have to type-in the whole tag again then omit or add something.

Is it possible for the tag (being edited) to appear inside the OSK window when it pops-up? That way changes can be made without typing the whole tag over again..

took my own advise and dl windows media player ,and all ok works great.
