EL CAMINO has written a real handy script to edit MP3 ID3 tag info using RR's OSK.

However, when clicking on the tag to edit, it opens up the OSK w/ a blank field. It'd be real nice to pass on the label/tag data to the OSK textbox so that you don't have to re-type the whole thing if you are just editting a letter or two.

Not a huge deal, but more a convinience thing.

Pass a value (label) into the OSK when called via OSK to CMD.

Ideally the contents of the variable to which the output is going should be displayed in the OSK if it already has a value.

Sorry if that don't make sense as it's 3am here.

ie from skincommands

"OSKTOCMD;MYVAR;RUNQ;$MYVAR$"

highlighted variable contents should be passed to the OSK

please go over the install again, the commands are different now, seems that treetop777 have it working. i been using and testing for a couple of days with no issues.

@guino
i do this purely in autoit, but would be nice to do it with RR's code, like the web plugin does
when the button to enter a new url is hit the osk shows "http://www." automatically.something like

Code:
"OSKTOVAR;TAGS;STARTING TEXT"

or even better, in all OSKTO and NUMOSKTO commands. this way can be used with any call. T

Would you have any idea why my embedded album art are not displaying now? I haven't done much troubleshooting but it started when i installed the plugin. I use X,mp3art to display most of the album art.

1-Check if it works again by removing this plugin
2-Change the order of the X, lines -- this does make a difference if there's a bug in one of the plugins.

@EL_CAMINO: I've added a OSKTEXT command to set the text of the OSK/NUMOSK for next release.

did you do anything in your plugin to provide labels to RR ?? the bug could be in there and that could interfere with other running plugins.

yes, just one, and is just a regular custom label, which is.

Code:
"!TAGS_COMMENTS"

most of the code is for error trapping, and info reading. i you want i can send you the code, is simple as hell. child's play for you.

pm me the code for your Label procedure in the plugin -- it is an extension plugin right ? I'll take a look at it.

well, as guino release a new updated RR version, the new command to preset the osk text. well be used to load the tag info if any, works a lot faster and looks cleaner, about the mp3Art plugin, seems to have some issues reading the Album art after editing tags. guino will take a quick look at this problem for me.

thank you guino.

EDIT:
i tested the latest version with more than 20 mp3's and the album art is been untouched, still shows in RR mp3Art plugin.

Tested it, the tag shows up in the OSK as intended but I'm sad to say it's still deleting the embedded album art

I fools you because when you go into the editor, the art is there; after you finish editing and return to the audio player, the art is still there BUT go to a different song then go back to the edited song and the art will be gone.

I opened them in tag&rename and they are really gone.

ok, seems that a newer version of cddbcontrol.dll, works better. i will include the new dll to the package. please unregister first the old cddbcontrol.dll to do this run unregister.bat and then copy the new dll, now you can run register.bat to register the new cddbcontrol.dll, remember that is a different dll. also the tag.exe must be replace.

what is the problem?, the track keeps playing?, the track is removed from the playlist only? or there is no changes at all?, from what skin are you launching the delete process?
