Question IBusCom / IBuscomM / IBusRR -- HELP!!!

Someone, PLEASE help me with a "little" problem:

I'm trying desperatley to finnish a CarPC project before going on a 4 week car holliday in Europe...

For this I need my PC to communicate with my BMW Ibus BOTH WAYS...

Now to the problem:

I have used IBuscomm to parse control commands from my OEM unit and control / switch over to the PC.. Works great, but I can't send control data to the IBus?

I then found a "IBusRR" to be able to talk with the IBus from RR, how nice it is to control the windows, send custom messages to the OEM display, flash the arrows in the dash on camera alert etc...
BUT ... when using IBusRR I no longer can get the PC swithed to the OEM display using RTS ON / OFF signalling...

Is this me doing something stupid, or is this functionality ripped out of IBusRR???

Anyone done a hack on IBusComm to have both functions?
..and last but not least: Anyone done a hack to read the GPS pos from IBus to feed to RR?

This would be a great thing for everybody doing OEM integration with a CarPC in a BMW !!!

Kind regards

Hi Marc-X,

I am not an expert in this area, but will try to lend a fellow I-Bus'r a hand.

Can you elaborate on what you are doing, and with which utility? Break it down by what works with what. Also, post your ini files.

There are plenty of versions of the ibus comm that others have developed each to do a different thing, what ive recently done with the same problem is take chunks out of the ini file (that was capeable of doing the functions you mentioned) and copied it over, i wanted to get keyboard mapping & support for the extra buttons on the e46 steering wheel, had no probs with it so far...

still struggling with ibus on my e46 wagon. i have ahifi business cd system therefore no cd changer plug in trunk but found something on amplifier wiring harness which could be the ibus.

problem now on resler serial interface is that when i connect ibuscom on com1 it says "already in use". why that? i dont see any other com ports being assigned.

anybody can help?

I just got my usb resler's ibus yesterday. I plugged in the usb, ibus plug, power, but when I try to run ibuscomm it says no port found or something like that. Is 9600 baud the correct setting?

Not sure waht version your using, all the ones ive seen have an ini file, you have to pick the com port your using, shouldnt have to fiddle with baud rate luckily.
