I'm glad to see so many people using this plugin and the creative applications! Keep the new skins coming.

I'm not sure of the exact problem, but here is way for you to self-diagnose:
- Launch winamp.
- Open a command prompt (run cmd).
- Change directories to the location of the SmartPlayLists folder in RR.
- Execute this line (replace winamp path with the location of your Winamp folder):
cscript.exe queryWinamp.vbs "$winamppath$" "type=0"
If the script is successfull, your winamp playlist should update to all songs in your media library. If it doesn't, hopefully it will give you some useful error to help diagnose the issue.
Once you get the script working on the command line, try it out in RR again. If it doesn't work here, its most likely a configuration error in RR with the winamp path or RR path definition.

I'm having an issue with, I think either this plugin or the corresponding active winamp plugin. My issue is my playlist's are now incomplete!! What I mean is the RR playlist will not match the winamp playlist editor window and I'll have missing entries in the RR playlist (i.e. my list will have:
1. artist - title
2. [BLANK]
3. artist - title
4. [BLANK]
5. artist - title
.
.
.
and so on!
Anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?

in my tests i tried Winamp 5.3xx and had some issues, so i downgrade to 5.13 which in my opinion is the most stable version to use RR and active winamp, one more thing, i installed Active winamp using the installer, then i replaced the dll only with the "cvs" version, which gives me some more features and fixes minor bugs(rating), try Teknik and polaris skins, they use active winamp, with some other features added.

I ran into this problem (got the same exact error) when testing RR on my desktop. To fix, I found another copy of scrrun.dll, copied to windows/system32 (overiding previous ver) and then regsvr32'd it and it worked!

I follow you right up to the point of replacing the dll. I don't understand. And where do I get the replacement dll?

this is the dll file ...
save this file as "gen_activewa.dll" and then copy this version into c:\program files\winamp\plugins and overwrite the version that's already there. This should work !

Has anyone tried to use "artist == "$MYSEARCH$"" command with this. I can't get it to work! The only thing it does is open up the winamp "Open files..." dialogue! I believe this syntax to be correct as I'm copying it from the Media Library SmartView Query builder. Anyone?

i dont use vbs files, i use a single AI executable to filter all my searchs, it will be better if you use "Artists has $MYSEARCH$" becuase if you use = it will return only exact match.nothing else.

this solved my problem. didn't have to download a new sccrun.dll, just had to re-register it.

I know its better to use the HAS function but I find for artists like "No Doubt" that it returns any song that has the word "NO" in it. Actually this might be because of my findings below as well.
Actually I figured out whats going on with this vbs script. If you have an artist or album or trackname with more than 1 word (i.e. there is a space in your string) the arguments are not passed into the script correctly causing only the first word of your search string to actually be sent to the winamp media library query. I've modified the script so that it works for me. I can post if anyone is interested.
For example if you're trying to search for "No Doubt" the script only passes "artist HAS No" to the search query. I guess this would explain why I'm getting every song that has "no" in it!! DOH!!!

yes, that is true, so for every word you need to use "HAS". if you submit a full name it will give you only the exact match,
"artist has No and artist has Doubt"
