TrafficMapsPlus Extension Plugin for RR
Very early stages of this but things are progressing well. Based on the plugin for movietimes i present TrafficMapsPlus(because we can never have too many traffic apps right? ). The plugin downloads traffic maps and (where available) incident details. The information is pulled from weather.com's xml wap feed. The maps are not interactive, but you can set the width, height, and zoom level from within the skin making the plugin pretty flexible. Information received is the map and a list of roads containing traffic problems. Once you click on one of the roads in the road list the "Details" label describes the data. The only real limitation to this is it only seems to work near major metros, but i assume since the site is still beta that they will add more metros to there support list. Anyway here's a (bad) screenie:

That's awesome.
One more reason I should probably get internet setup in my carPC.

yes this will require internet.. tho it works fairly fast at dial up speeds. If you plan on changing the zoom or dimensions a connection is a MUST.

Nice work, Sonic. I sure do miss the traffic plugin that Moahdib did a year or so ago. Traffic cameras are nice, but they don't really give a good idea of what's going on.

Why not, there was a request for one last year.
I have toyed with the idea, so I can justify putting a PC in the Kitchen.

Absolutely! I have RR running on a Touchscreen in the wall and use it for quite a few things, that would not be car related. I wrote Florida Lotto script, Included some scripts to send messages to my home automation server to control lights ecte ct.. and have done some other modifications for this particular RR's "environment"
I would love to be able to add a recipe plugin for this, as the screen is on the wall between the kitchen and the living room.

Hey, just wanted to say thanks for working on these plugins. Still haven't gotten movietimes to work (can't get the skin to load?), but these are both things I really need.. and plus I'm in the DC metro area too, so everything works out. Looking forward to the completed versions of both!

well these plugins were easy to create because they basically all do the same thing.. take data from a website source and parse it. Ur plugins generally are way more complexed. That being said.. hurry the **** up so i can release my skin lol

Perfection takes time...but even at this rate, I'll admit that this is getting a bit out of hand...
