OVERLAY [screen loader]

this is a very simple script that is capable to load any screen(.skin files) just like RR does, the big difference is that the background is not used, some people including myself needed this. heres some screenshot. same screen loaded using this little guy(top) and RR (bottom).

as of now only buttons are supported (is what i needed the most)i might include labels and indicators later on...

NOTE:skin(Teknik V2 created by valheru) hope is ok to use it as an example)

Very nice.

I can already image the possibilities in my new skin...

I know you can achieve the same effect using pink transparencies, but for some reason, I could never get that to work properly.

another big advantage using this is, that even if a screen is loaded on top of RR you still have control over RR, not possible using RR for the moment.(i think guino said something about adding this features to RR in upcoming releases not sure.)

I have this app in My skin on Destinator 7 works really well, slight delay in the button press.
but its the best so far.
in my D7 i have 2 OL graphic files 1 for map view , then you hit on/off button which will switch to the 2 image OL. so the menu's of D7 can be used .

I wonder if an image can be overlayed on top of a visualization? That way i can have buttons for next and prev vis right on top of the visualization itself. I'm going to have to try it!

wow.. great job El.... This could allow gps view with tremandous improvement if i understand correctly.. carputer1 just inspired me what i wanna do with my gps view...
basically, we can now put the buttons on the map as floaters and make them look transparent... Is it possible you can put a timer and make the skin go away? you know like valheru's popup..

This is Fantastic! It does load over the vis, those buttons actually work for prev. and next avs. Now i only have to go dig into skincommands to learn how to position the overlay.

EDIT: nevermind the position, i loaded it in the truck and the buttons show where they should.

I want to overlay buttons on the GPS screen and also the main menu screen but the overlay buttons for each screen are in different positions..can that be done? if so, how?

to make the png's with the buttons where you want to see them.

this is how i did it for the gps scr in my skin.
you also need to have a seperate cmd line for the other images

"C_OVERLAY","RUN;$rrpath$Plug in's\Overlay\ElcosMenu.exe|overlay2.skin"
"O_OVERLAY","RUN;$rrpath$Plug in's\Overlay\ElcosMenu.exe|overlay.skin"

1st line gps map on overlay png
2nd line gps menu overlay png

Sure does help.

This is the command on the main menu to start visu and an overlay for next prev avs:

"RUN;$SKINPATH$ElcosMenu.exe|overlay.skin||VIS U"

So to start and overlay the GPS screen (from a button on the main menu) i could use:

"RUN;$SKINPATH$ElcosMenu.exe|overlayGPS.skin|| GPS"

worked great for Ig4...couldn't get it to look good over video, it just flickers, probably just my on-board graphics though...

for OL , it dose not like video, nor dose it like being over ilists, theses are the only 2 things that i have found with this app so far.
