with the vlc activeX you can specify dvd://path/to/video_ts folder
and it'ld play the folder as if it was a dvd.

i am using dfx 4 ,i din edit anything, but now when i click on the video file, it show the vlc player and play a file, but i try to browse and choose the media file, it dun works.

one more thing is the screen is not full screen, it only show the small screen at the center

Should still work but VLC is a supported video player choice in the latest RR installs (highly integrated).

I think I asked this question before but didn't quite understand the answer I got. So if I download this and install it, do I need to do anything else to run it in either the Carwings Dynamic skin or the eLite Lite skin? Is it true that I have to build my own screen in the skin to display it?

Off-topic: Do you guys realize that you can use VLC with RR by simply choosing VLC in RRConfig ? this is INCLUDED in the latest installs and we provide support for it:

Answering your questions:
1.Should this plugin still work? yes.
2.Does it require anything else? yes -- you need to modify the skin to use the commands posted in this thread to make use of the plugin.
3.Can I use it with carwings: yes, but you'd have to modify the skin to use it.

Still, the VLC support provided with RR's installer does NOT require any skin changes and can be used directly with any existing skin. The only possible reason for using this plugin would be if you want to use VLC with an old/unsupported version of RR (that didn't have VLC support).

When I play dvd from VLC and reward to main page RR music not resume music library zero ( not zero when play vdo file and back to music )

-Make sure you have VLC 1.0.0 (or newer)
-You do not have to configure the Media player classic path when using VLC.

Just so everyone knows this project is still active and does still have a place in RR.

Guino's new plugin allows you to use RR as the player but will stop it as soon as you leave for music or gps.

My plugin is designed to work on a seperate screen so others can keep watching (i.e. the kids) while you're using GPS and music on your main screen.

So if you just want VLC on your front screen use Guino's, if you want multiscreen use mine.

i have not had much chance to play around with vlc yet... but how do you configure how many speakers etc? and how do you choose subtitles etc?
