Installation:

This dll and this plugin enables the functionality of the radio usb silabs taking it to the level of an autoradio rds.

The dll Usbradio.dll created by SkyNet . You will find 2 UsbRadio.dll 1 for stereo version , and the other for quadraphonic version.

Copy what is suitable for your system into your roadrunner Root.

Copy the contents of the Road Runner folder to road runner Root.

Follow the command regsvr32 testsilabdll.dll

In the case of a previous installation, first de-register the dll with the command regsvr32 testsilabdll.dll / u then you may proceed with the New installation.

In the radioart folder insert the graphics that shows the logo of the radio station, the name of .jpg must be the name of the pi address, (this the pi number of the station (the ‘p’ is the id code of the radio and is expressed in decimal code).

The configuration file of the plugin is in the testsilabdllconfig folder, also the alternative preset frequencies of each radio (station?)

Function:

The testsilabdll attaches a set of commands for starting and visualising the rds better to the pre-existing commands of Roadrunner.

The dll furnishes a fast comprehensive rds support of all the present rds information.

Function TA:

If function Tl is activated Roadrunner will switch itself automatically to the radio screen in the case of a traffic bulletin, in the case of any transmitted message issuing on another radio (station) belonging to the EON group the radio will automatically tune in to that.

Function NEWS:

If the NEWS function is activated, Roadrunner will automatically switch to radio screen in case of news-type radio, in this case any message transmitted on another radio station belonging to the EON group the radio will tune automatically on that one.

Function Tl:

In the case of a radio station using an alternative frequency, you can use the af function in automatic or in manual (in manual mode, the command is sil_maf), this allows radio frequency to be changed searching for a better signal for the radio station listened to.

Function Memory:

If you should wish to memorise a preset key, the memory key must be activated, then press the preset key, the current radio station will be memorised on this.

Function Popup:

Your choice for skinners

2 Popups can be integrated in the skin, one popup preset (doesn’t matter what the name is) and one search af popup (silabsaf.skin).

By use the command sil_setup you can access the dll setup. In this you can check if the popup af is active or not, if the preset popup is active or not, and if wished, that the silabs are changed during the search af.

In the af popup you can put in position the sil_exitaf key through which it is possible to exit from the cycle returning to the original frequency, each function from the outside for the popup can be activated from the manual search key sil_maf.

In the pre-set popup it is possible to insert pre-set selection keys, the pre-set name label, the pre-set indicators that visualise the miniature pre-set radio, but I recommend inserting also the sil_memory key to enable access to the saving of a pre-set.

Function Set-up:

The command sil_setup accesses a form of setup, through which you can access and modify the various values of the plugin configuration.

You can make the 4 audio channels from the setup form that through the commands of the skin.

When using the stereo version of the dll usbradio, 4 channels will be ignored.

Function EON:

I advise you to superimpose the name label of the radio station eon with it’s indicator, in this way it is possible, clicking on the name, to tune the radio to the eon station desired.

IMPORTANT:

You must insert the following command: “CLOSEWINDOW:SDKSilabs | | QUIT” into the ‘quit’ of road runner.

for those who have noticed that their custom_inds have stopped working i have just this minute recieved an update which dose solve this issue, further testing when home from work tonight.

tonight i will put in download the last version (now in italy are 13:00)
i rewrite the preset function and i write support for freephone
i post tonight because i will make first some test and i wait feedback by by betatester (carputer1 and some friends in italy)

i try to make the better and flexible plugin for silabs
i will make all the function that silabs can use

any comments/critics/idea are appreciate
all is usefull to make better support for it

can anyone explain to me why no matter what skin i use in rr why my silabs radio picks up static,if i go to the radio tab whatever preset i am on i have to select a different freqency ,then go back to the one i want to get audio ,it also doesnt matter what usbradio.dll i use i just cant switch to radio and it work i hae to switch freqency back and forth, also i get skipping in the audio

how have you set silabs up in your rrconfig, and are you using the linein plugin(if so remove it) in config you should selected silabs (7) and at the top tune to all Freq,
leave everything else, if problems still persist open rrconfig and set the card reset.
also did you register the testsilabs.dll

and did you ever have this working before.

use the ADS Standard.dec or ADS NoiseMod Secondary.dec
after the update, uninstall from the system resource the "usb multifunciotnal resource" (i don't know how is named in english) you can view the right to remove loking its detail,
it is named "ADS InstantFM Music"
after remove the silabs forrm the usb port, power off the system (not reset, power off)
power on the pc, and put the silabs into an usb port

now the silabs work again and you don't have problem inside the plugin

Im trying to install your Silabs version, but cannot complete step 2 above. When I power on the pc it loads ADS driver again. And your TestSilabs.exe crashes.

it works as longs as I am using the on board sound though the skin. I can use the ADS config Beta 2 exe and I will get sound.

If I go to using my Turtle beach USB sound card it won't work through the skin. It will though the EXE beta 2. The Turtle Beach USB sound card is the one in my car.

Any one have any ideas, it's a great skin, and great workmanship on the DLL. I am using the latest RR.exe, the silabls USB FM RD radio and the stick.

Hi,

I would like to use this plugin with a skin I have just down loaded.
Download all the files, registered the dll etc.
What do I need to add to the skin menu to get the plugin to start up etc?

this plugin use a whole lot of different cmds so vals skin file will not work with this plugin , in the download should of been instructions and test skin try it

sorry for delayed reply

some problem can be find in system that have usb sound card
usbradio.dll have a bug in the init sub of the sound (fmod sound init)
i will talk to skynet for fix this bug

@the big 1: to start the plugin must add to the main.skin the follow line:

Sorry to be a pain!
I got the radio bit working ok but I dont understand how the "PI" is created for the radio station. I have downloaded some radio art for some radio stations and want to save as the correct file name so they show up on the presets.

the "pi" number is the radio station number code identificator
all radio has its pi, i use the radio number to the radioart
to make it automatically i used the "pi" number received by rds
it also used to make automatically the file of the alternate frequencies list ( "pi".ini ) of the radio station, it's used for the automatic frequence change on radio signal strength low
