traffic cam that uses url

Is there a plugin that uses the url rather than a camera id? All I can find is the url address for each cam I want, none of them have an id number.

no.. and the reason for this is the people who broadcast the cameras set it up so that the urls expire at random intervals. The only way around this is to take the camera id and request the URL from the site before parsing it. Least thats how my old camera plugin worked and i believe thats how enforcer does his too.

Ok then how do you retrieve the id numbers used by these plugins? All of my local ones have id numbers based on location, like on I295 they are numbered (295n3, 295s23) and such.

Sort of what he said.

There are some which just have a url for a camera which doesn't change, and there are some which do.

And then there are some that change their system and make it almost bl0ody impossible to work with

Do you have a webpage for where these cameras are, or is this a different plugin that has the cameras and you don't know the url for the main site?

If they are not amongst ones already waiting to go into the US database I can try and add them.

Criteria is as follows

A.
If it is a new Country then firstly provide me with a link, if it is not in English you may have to harvest the info yourself. Please provide the info in the following format

<url of camera>
<Location of camera including town/state>
<lat>
<lon>

NB the lat and lon need to be in decimal format and not Degrees Minutes, seconds. ie (34.4567,-23,9465)

You can either PM, them to me, email them via the email address on my website or post them in the Traffic Cams thread

When he said FDOT above, that sounds like a problem That is the Florida Department of Transportation. As as you know all the ones in your database stopped working some months ago for all of West Palm Beach and Miami Cameras I compiled with the GPS Lat & Lon for you.

Personally I see no reason at all for them to do this! It is a government site, and the camera's, feeds, workers and all are paid for with our taxes. Sites like MSN where the Gas prices come from.... errr...CAME from rather, as well as Weather.com, is more understandable, as they are companies, and their sites are paid for by advertising.

Only the West Palm Beach ones don't work.

Miami-Dade still work.

It's funny because there seem to be differents ways of displaying the cameras depending on town/city.

Oh, I have got some more for other florida towns/cities, just trying to ppay with some other sites.
