nope curently not developing any updates... stuff got to complex and budget went down the tube. So for now just playing with simpler projects.

Ok that's to bad man. You made a "dyk" piece of software we would say here in Holland. Absolutly the bom.

Will it run fully in XP, no errors left? Than I will leave my faith in Linux for once more and buy or rip a XP somewhere.

Realy want to have a camera option like you build in the car. So please let me know if it work fully in XP.

as to Vista.
V1 will NOT work on vista (as we alredy figured)
V2 however works on vista but it is not finished yet

V1 and V2 works fine in XP. I'm not gonna port it to Linux

Nomader, come on you got XP in your car ;-)

Next year i might upgarede my comp to Windows 7, then i will be pushed to support Vista =)

Ow man, that realy sucks.

I have a left over Vista that I want to rebuild to a carputer. The only thing I cannot use now is the HD plugin. So thats a bummer. Is there maybe a way you can give it one more try to fit the software in Vista?

The story in Holland is already that Windows 7 sucks, I took a look at it, and its Vista only with a little fresh paint on it, as I can see.
So maybe its better to compile it for Vista??

My opinion is that you where almost there with it. I know a little about PHP and MySQL so cant help you with programming. Otherwise I would!!!!!

If you gonna port it to Linux, let me know please. I can look if its work.

Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 at the moment here.

Nomader: V2 is not completed due to small problem with DX libarary. It does not allow me to finish to compile the video file untill i close app. So i'm looking for an expert to help me with that. Unfortunatly there are not to many Direct X experts that would be willing to work for free and i dont have any donationns that i can use as salary to pay some one for consulting.

hakweldag: Windows 7 is next generation of Vista sam as Win NT and Win 2000 so I assume next release after Win 7 should be perfect, but for now Vista sux big time. Programing wise it does not support 50% of libraries. More over MS stop using old technologies like Direct Show (even though they did'nt delete it yet) but it still makes it harder to do programs for vista. Also vista is resource hungry so you cant really put it in car. The main problem w/ vista in car is that it uses S4+S2/3 standby mode... meaning you dont really shut it down, you just go to standby... If you do shut it down for real then you will have to wait 2 min to boot and apps on start up will be freezing abit... I doubt you want to wait for 5 min for your GPS to come up. And you cant use standby because it will kill your battery overtime.

PS: PHP + MySQL are used for web programming, they are more or less useles of shell programming = PHP is designed to process webpages (mostly) VB can be used for both web pages and windows applications, but it can not be used for linux Apps. C++ can be used for Windows and linux apps but not for webpages. I use VB.net on my side for this project.

That's why I cant help you hahaha. I am talking to a guy I a couple of days, maybe he can help with the Direct X.

you can install VM Ware on Vista and instal XP virtual machine. Alternativly you can use Windows Virtual Desctop

If you're shopping for a new camcorder right now,

HD is totally recommended. soon, HD will be the the primary thing for recording and showing all types of video.

Is this project still alive? Would like to see the finished software, I'm suprised this software remained fairly unnoticed to a lot of people, as this is the only one I've seen with a rolling buffer..

Maybe it's an idea to make it cross-frontend compatible? Just to get it noticed by the community..

well im still here, i havent put much development time as I was working on better Garmin skin for Centrafuse... but since I'm gona install cameras in my car soon I would assume I will resume the development

How's the progress going? I am running windows 7 in my car PC now (MUCH better and faster than XP and not near the memory hog of vista) and I would love to get this type of app...

I would even be willing to donate paypal as I believe that great coding should be paid for. Or I could likely donate win 7 pro on a SATA disk if that would get it going again with Win 7 compatibility.
