Road Camera HD is a mobile DVR and black box software for CarPCs and other applicable devices running Win XP.

At this moment you can record video from any video acquisition device.
- Web Cams
- Fire Wire DV cameras
- USB cameras
- TV tuners
- USB DVR Adapters
- All-In-Wonder video cards

RCHD has 4 modes.
1) Video Viewer – Where you can view the camera feed + you can flip the image vertically in case you want to use at as rear camera or backup camera.

2) Still Camera – there is a button to take still pictures of your video. Let’s say you want to take picture of the license plate of the car, or whatever the case may be.

3) Continues Video Recording – you can start video recording to the file at your will. Unique *.avi will be created with the file name of the date time of current time.

4) “Timed Recording” – program can record video either manually or auto started to one single file of given size. Once size is exceeded the file will be overwritten. In this way you can keep the video log all the time and not use hard rive space. If emergency happens you just hit “Save Timed Video” button and the video will be saved to separate permanent file. NOTE: the old buffer file is deleted at every restart. If you in auto start mode then buffer file will be deleted on every application restart. If you are in manually mode then your buffer file will be deletes once you initiate Timed recording by clicking corresponding button on the GUI.

Additional functionality includes custom integration for Road Runner front end. If you are running RR then you can use GPS settings to get location and speed from RR GPS module and then imprint this information directly on the video files so if there is a need for investigation you will know exact location of your car during incident. (To enable GPS support you need to set parameters to “true” in RCHD.ini file)

Unfortunately budget did not allow us to do further development and some features did not make it to the final release:

PS: If you want app to install in directory where you can easy find the exe and config files, you can use attached MSI file. Also I found Bug in app = you can not change input source... i just forgot to edit variable so it would be easy to fix that but since license on library has expired i can not rebuild app... so only forst installed or active camera will be captured.

New: I have added the GUI config utility, thats if you dont wanna mess with ini file and yet you wanna see how the setings can change your app experiance.

Click On Image and then in new window click on it again to open donation page.

Ok that seamd that VISTA needs manual registration of video libary. So you can not use installer. I will have to post bin files and you will have to manually register the ocx controll with the Wndows Vista.

In case of Win XP and erlier component registration is not reqired and it works perfectly fine.

I guess I will have to get Vita and install it on my laptop and then debug it lovaly. Thta might take a week to release updated vista program

Why are u running vita on carpc anyway, it its too much resources.

i am using xp on the car, but every other pc that i have run Vista..so things get tested in vista first

+ i am out of country and very far away from my car, but very eager to try your software!

well, I only have Vista 64bidDemo DVD thats meand taht I have to install on my desctop.

Any one wants to donate spare SATA harddrive for vista debuging? Virtual machin will not be able to handle vista

so i need to actually install damn thingie

In order to run on vista u need to register xvideoocx.dll with the windows server

i still don't get it.. how r u supposed to run the app.. by running "Road Camera HD.exe"??

when i tried to register "Interop.XVIDEOOCXLib.dll" and "AxInterop.XVIDEOOCXLib.dll" in the "Application Files" i get an error, where is "xvideoocx.dll" that i am supposed to register..

ok can i ask for one more thingy.. can you make it record sound aswell..

i have a request if possiable , being this is a new build , is it possiable to have 2 cameras
on the same app, or have 2 apps ,1 for each cam Front and back. also haveing gps to sense weather the car is moving forwards or backwards and swtching between cams or the 2 apps .

i know its early stages yet but food for thought

I hvae 8 days to finish before my trial of video libary is gone

So about vista if registring xvideo doenst help then i hvae no idea why that doenst work. I still didnt get to installing vista here yet

As to the sounds for recording, yep will add them, also I'm thinkong to add images that will indicate the recording status (unfortunatly i can not have transparant images

Detecting reverce speed by gps is not posible by software only unles you are moving on one way street and ur map tells u that. oterwise gps always thinks u r going foward. However if you can attach Phidgets board to your backup light I can detect that you are moving backwards and show you backup camera full screen. (If you will me to add support for that i can do that a bit later)

As to the multiple cameras, that is doable but needs quite a logic to control everything. How about I get all the other parts working and then i add supports say for 8 cameras? That should be enough for all ppl (Real Car DVR) well then u will need real good car PC to get some fps.

Um, sounds like I ill have to buy the damn library

well drop thye forwards/backwards if you are able to do multi cam display ,thats enough.
i only want 3 cams really 1 forward 1 reverse and 1 in cockpit, 1st 2 i would like to be displayed in the same scr the 3rd is for somthing else i have in mind.

how much is the libary , i'm willing to donate to this if you are sure you can pull it off, i know in the russian forum there is a cam plugin with 6 cams , and this is something i have been after for sometime now ,

so hit me with the price

I can check what library they are using.

Actually I like backup sensor part more as its easier ;-)

Lib cost $200, but i'm not 100% sure if i will stick with it. So lets wait till the my trial expires and then i'll see how it goes.

The problm with multiple cameras is that i have to do the GUI logic and thats getting messy

2 cameras to siplay is more or less ok. I think I can do screen sptoter and positionong w/o getting dirty

3rd camera on separate page if needed.
PS: hey stop spying on your passangers :P

Hmm 2nd window may be a problem for RR overlys... I guess I have to have invisible window for it

which file am i supposed to register..? i can't find "xvideoocx.dll"
the only dll's i found in the zip are "Interop.XVIDEOOCXLib.dll" and "AxInterop.XVIDEOOCXLib.dll"
