Has anyone here tried my CoverMess plugin (see sig) regarding performance issues?
I'm planning on adding a 'flow' option , and I'm curious as to the performance of my plugin...

I havent specifically tried your covermess plugin, but I have tried many flash coverflow plugins before. All of which had high CPU cycles. If you can somehow figure out how to keep the CPU below 30 or so when flipping albums then I'll certainly be giving it a shot.

Coverjuke 1.56 can be downloaded from Sourceforge. It will embed perfectly with RR, but unable to use sendkeys. To send keystrokes, there is a script posted a few posts back. If u need any help, I can probably put together another help file with everything now that I am back in the US

This is a great program. I like it a lot, but i don't think i can use it on my carputer as i'm getting 100% cpu constantly without even browsing through the albums. I have a P4 2.4 with a gig of ram..
I'll play around with the settings to see if i can decrease that at all.

Been playing around with coverjuke and I'm also experiencing the varying results on different machines. On one pc, the CPU tops at %100 and renders the app useless. On another, the app runs fine, barely registering a blip on the CPU and hovering around the %5 with road runner running as well. I haven't been able to identify exactly why....other than the difference in hardware and such.
I have noticed some strange behavior with the actual application when using winamp as an external player. When I click on an album to select it, the entire folder contents are loaded into the winamp playlist but it doesn't load correctly. In most cases, the first song in the playlist is added a second time at the end....although trying to play it doesn't work. In cases where there is only one song, the same takes place...resulting in the same song showing up twice.
This sound like a winamp issue or is it a bug in coverjuke? I was having a similar issue when I was using the winamp media library with road runner (never got it sorted out), so I'm thinking it may have something to do with winamp??? Anyone have any ideas????

Yeh I'm not sure of the reason for the high CPU on differing computers. It must be some sort of hardware issue. All of the PCs I've tested it on have had minimal CPU issues. I'll try to investigate further to see if there are any hardware dependencies for the version of OpenGL being used.
The winamp issues I have experienced as well. I have started researching writing a plugin for Coverjuke to use RR. Meaning in the configuration u would choose RideRunner as the media plugin, I am also working on a RR specific plugin for sending keystrokes and stuff to the program, and some other goodies to get completely rid of the CJSend script. This way you just download CoverJuke, drop the dll in the plugin's folder, a few other things and DONE. If you need to get coverjuke rollin' immediately, let me know and I can post the instructions.

Sounds good. I've already got the coverjuke working embedded with the carwings skin...albeit on a test pc and not my carpc. We'll see if I get the cpu issues on my carpc. The updates you're working on definitely sound promising.

Back in school this upcoming week. I have made some progress with the overall application. If classes stay light and I dont run into any more coding issues, I should have something to show this weekend.

If you need a hand I've been doing VB/Java coding for over 10 years...Haven't touched C# in a long time, but I'm sure I could pick it up if need be. Let me know. Even if you just need someone to test/debug, let me know.
Also, I may have made some progress on the lockup on certain systems...gonna do some more testing tomorrow but I may have something. Will post once I get a clearer picture.
