Of course users of other FE's are welcomed to test it.
At least the OSK will work with any FE or IG stand-alone.
Thanks for the info. Not sure how CF changes screens, but I'm up for giving it a shot. =) I'm kinda curious as to why the magnification and auto-zoom will only work in RR?

You don't have to use Justintime's mod at all but my interface is designed to look seemlessly with his mod so it's highly recommended.

Like I said, if CF doesn't hide IG when switching screen, you'll end up with a magnified area that'll always remain on the screen.
Auto-zoom draws the current speed from RR to determine the zoom level. Earlier, I tried to draw the speed directly from IG but failed.
BTW, you can disable all those RR-specific features through the INI if you like. You can always use the OSK, I guess.

Very nice, this is exactly what I was waiting for.
Btw, seems like you have access to the next direction in memory. Think there would be a way to display that information elsewhere? Im thinking writing the distance to next turn, direction, and road name to another text box in RR, or to a character LCD.

I am very impressed!
How are you reading the next turn data?
Edit: Will it support 800x600?
Any testing/assistance you might want, I am at your disposal.

Does/can your app read the speed directly from NMEA strings? If so, would it be possible to use a port-splitter such as Xport3 to provide your app with the NMEA sentences, and thus enable auto-zoom outside of RR?

Purdoom, I do a customized OCR on the street name area. The buttons automatically snap onto the edges of IG so it'll work with any solution. The OSK is 800x480 but it can be scaled to 800x600 by change some INI option just like Road Runner.

Yes it can theoretically do that. I just need to find a DLL that can read from COM ports. MSCOMM32.ocx is kinda crappy. Plus you'll need a runtime license for that.

Subscribed and standing by for first download.
This may make me switch back to iGuidance.
Anxiously awaiting release (vigorously rubbing hands together and evil laugh)
Cheers
BJ

I've got 2.1.3NA as well, and will be very willing to test this out for you. That is, of course, if I can figure out how to get RR and everything running right, as I haven't yet loaded a frontend on my carPC. I just finally got to the point where my hardware is mostly set up enough to begin really customizing the software - up until this point I've just been using Winamp and iGuidance.
