Try using an Indicator for album art. I don't have the J definition anywhere in my skin for album art, embedded or otherwise and it works great.

i did this, and it works but the image quality is horrible, all my album art files are 200x200, and i have an area for it in rr thats slightly larger than that, but if i open the art in windows and zoom it, the image quality is still quite good, any ideas of why it only bad in rr?
thanks

It looks like there may be a problem with the 12-6-07 version and the MP3Art plugin.

Mp3Art plugin does not work in the 12/6 release. If you have the art embedded in the mp3 file then it will not show the art. If there is no art in the mp3 file then the Folder.jpg is displayed.
I am sure Guino will fix this before he releases it official.

Right, For the J line, do not use 0's, actually give it coordinates and dimensions like any other control. That is what has worked for me, through all versions for the past 8 months. haven't tested it on the 12/6 version as yet, that will be tonight.

I've fixed the issue with the SUPPORTED embedded art files from this plugin.

Guino, I just downloaded the 12/06 version 2, and the mp3 art is still disappearing. Do you mean you fixed it there, or that it is supposed to be fixed in the 2nd release of 12/06?
My skin is in beta testing with like 20 people and I have gotten quite a few PM's. IM"s and Emails about this

Do we still need to register this one. Can we unregister the prev. one?

Open Notepad in windows, go into RR's skin folder, and find the menu.skin file, open it and add this line before the END line and save it:
X,Mp3Art
That's it.
Whats the biggest change in the new version?
Maybe is an idea to put the register text in the opening post. I didn't know how to register it and thik i am not the only one.

The changes are in the first post:
-ONARTCLICKED event added.
-NoCover.JPG support and improvements made by El Camino and Sal R.
You don't have to re-register the if it's in the same location, but you can, and you can unregister the old one first if you want to.
I'd say anyone who uses the old version and it does the job, then there's no need to upgrade it... as an old KY saying: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!!"

If you use "MENU" instead of "LOAD" for the skins that have the albumart code, I believe it "redraws" the skin and might update your album art image.
I have a deriviative of the MP3Art plugin that displays art based on the highlighted track of a playlist (again, courtesy of EL CAMINO) and the only way for the art to update when switching screens is if the skin file was called via "MENU" vs. "LOAD."

Guino, marvelous job as usual. Glad to see that all my embedded album art can be put to use finally.
Small problem...
I've successfully gotten it to work in the MENU.skin and AUDIO_BROWSER.skin, but not EXTERNAL_GPS.skin.
If I switch to the audio browser then back to external_GPS, my indicator box shows the album art for a fraction of a second before it fades away. I added the X,mp3art reference to each .skin. Is there some reason why it will not display in EXTERNAL_GPS.skin for more than a 1/2 second?
Also, if I subsequently go from EXTERNAL_GPS.skin to MENU.skin, the album art also fades away and disappears, although it doesn't display the art... I just see part of the screen draw fading away.
Update 1:
It appears that on MP3's with multiple embedded art, it loads the first pic, then the second. Is there a parameter that can be used to make it only use the first cover art instead of loading the first then second?
