I renamed my connection to "Wireless Connection Manager" and in the exectbl.ini too.
And used the attached wireless.exe and the beta 0.6 wifi_man.exe.
+: the runtime of the wireless.exe is faster than before and don't hang up my mouse,
-: the wireless.exe don't fill out the box. Only the "connection manager". And rename it to "Wifi information" (i can live with this). I have to open manually the "Wireless Connection Manager". After this everything ok.
In your readme you advise to delete the "wifiMan.ini".
Wich file should delete "wifiMan.ini" or "wifi_man.ini"?
I never had "wifiMan.ini". If I delete "wifi_man.ini" the connection info don't work.

wireless.exe is for loading "Wireless Connection Manager" window, take all the stuff out you don't need, resize the window according to what your skin needs. renames the window to "Wifi Information", for some compatibility issues found. thats all,
about the wifiman.ini, i mean wifi_man.ini(my bad)now wifi_man.exe creates a wifi_man.ini for you, with the right info for your card, if it doesn't work use your old wifi_man.ini and on the dev value enter the full cards id, (for enable/disable feature)

Bit of help if you can
I can't get wifi_man.exe to run when Road Runner starts using DigitalFX skin
I have edited ExecTBL under Digitalfx skin using these commands
I started with:
"ONSKINSTART","RUN;$SKINPATH$wifi_man.exe"
nothing..... then I noticed /||RUN;$SkinPath$Scripts\wifi_man.exe
was already there so i deleted the / but still not loading up wifi_man.exe
I also tried this ( startcommand=RUN;$SKINPATH$wifi_man.exe") but think it's for another setting page (RR.ini)
My wifi page would work if I could get it to load wifi_man.exe Any help !!!
Thanks Paul

john has this working in DFX 3.0, ( coming out this month ) i'm beta testing for him and i tell you, the wifi manager has been improved a lot in DFX by john, if you are using 2.5 depending where you have wifi_man.exe, you need to adjust the path, are you getting the wireless skin to load? post some screencaps to see whats going on.

use
Code:
"ONSKINSTART","RUN;$SKINPATH$wifi_man.exe"
or in rr.ini add it to startcommand= no quotes here
Code:
startcommand=RUN;$SKINPATH$wifi_man.exe

Wifi_Man/Wireless Plugin with USB Wireless Dongle.
I have a: Linksys Wireless-G USB Network Adapter with Wi-Fi Finder ver 1.21
(That is the physical adapter name in System info, etc.)
It does NOT show a DEV=ID# in the details section when I go to the Adapter, etc.
(BTW.. When I run the WifiGetInfo.exe file, it just Blinks and nothing is shown or written to the ini file like it would with an installed wireless nic, etc.)
None of the Buttons work and the Info will show up in the locations, but will not show Actual Information, just the "Not Determined", etc. error info.
Any Ideas on what I can do???
Thanks!

the latest wifi_man.exe(Beta 0.6) version creates the ini for you, WifiGetInfo.exe is not used any more.

[QUOTE=EL CAMINO;1155650]use
Code:
"ONSKINSTART","RUN;$SKINPATH$wifi_man.exe"
or in rr.ini add it to startcommand= no quotes here
Code:
startcommand=RUN;$SKINPATH$wifi_man.exe
[/QUOTE
First option would not work but second works great
Cheers Paul

i have a question.. is there something in your script that makes road runner exit the wireless.skin file? i ask because i enter the screen... get labels filled in as they are supposed to be and see the box embed.. but maybe 2 seconds later i'm shot back out to menu.skin. In checking the debug.txt for road runner i dont see any command sending me back but it happens every time i use the "WIRELESS" command to open the skin. if i simply do load;wireless.skin manually it doesnt do it. Any idea on what this might be?
EDIT.. nevermind.. it was because i didnt have the error pop up in my skin file... but i dont understand why there is an error if the labels are populating as they should.

Hi EL CAMINO thanks for previous help but got a quick question If I could get wifi_man working with this script
"ONSKINSTART","RUN;$SKINPATH$wifi_man.exe"
instead of startcommand=RUN;$SKINPATH$wifi_man.exe
would it enable/dis-enable wifi_man.exe on opening and closing the wifi page instead of wifi_man running all the time from load up
trying to keep my cpu to a minimum
Paul

yea, what you can do is what john does in DFX3.0, when loading wireless skin.
from
to this
Code:
"WIRELESS||RUN;wifi_man.exe"
when you leave wireless skin use.
from
to this
Code:
"EXIT||CLOSEWINDOW;wifi_man"
