Ok, ive registered the .dll, added the folder to the rr dir. added x,movietimes to my menu.skin file (in dfx2.0 since thats what im using) but i just cant figure out how to open it once im in rr. I thought it would take over my video button by watching the video, but im wrong. What did i miss?

it pulls the zip code from CURRENTZIP if you are using that label. Is that what you mean?

run the command "MOVIETIMES", replace a button command with that command... and make sure u've copied over the .skin files from the sample skin folder. If you have CURRENTZIP occupied it will be a one touch pull of the theaters.. if not you'll have to enter a zip.

very nice to see someone else has this working. Nice looking skin!

i'm not letting this die til i have allt he features i want in it but in the meantime i've also picked up some code on getting traffic to work using weather.com's wap information site. it would pull maps AND details from there mobile site.

now that i know how to do this kinda stuff there's no stopping me now!

Having some issues getting this to work.

Have the latest RR.
Movetimes folder is in the RR directory
Dll regged
example Skin is in my skin directory
added "X,MOVIETIMES" to my menu.skin
Added a button to run the command "MOVIETIMES"

Nothing happens when I press the button.
IF I have a button to "load;movietimes.skin" it loads the skin file. But no buttons work,

I thought maybe my skin was missing something, so I even downloaded the BMV2 skin, same results.
I do have a zips.dat file.

Suggestions?

REgister the DLL again, from your RR\movietimes directory.

what happens if you replace the command with "load;movietimes.skin"? at the very least the movietimes command should take you to movietimes.zip. If its doing not this then its most definitely a skin issue. Are you sure u copied all the files from the same skin directory to BMV2's directory?

I downloaded the BMV2 skin, dropped the skin example ino that directory.

As you did in the video as a test, I set the skin commands to the video button.. did nothing. Did a "load;movietimes.skin" command, and it did bring up the skin, although if I press "Enter zip" nothing happens. I thought maybe I was mising the keypad skins, but I tested out the GPSGAS skin, and I entered the zip just fine.

Sounds like the plugin isn't loading, as that would be why the command to load the skin isn't working, check your rr debug log just after you startup rr, if there was any problem loading it, it will be right after the audio line checking, would look like "2/1/2008 6:29:52 AM: Error loading plugin: MOVIETIMES (<reason plug-in couldn't be loaded>)"

Thumbs up Very nice work on this Sonic!!!!

Awesome job on the plugin! THis is SOoooo slick! I prob will not use it in the car as much *No Internet) as I will on the touch screen in the wall here.

It seems to be working VERY well. With a few minor glitches. Testing it out I have found the following:

- I do not see the movie poster when viewing a movie

- The indicators do not seem to be propagating with the info from the site (How many stars the movie was rated)

- Some theaters are not loading movies, I think this is to do with the parsing of the theatre, and when clicked, does not match the theater name exactly, thus no movies are being pulled. (Try Zip: 33480, and select "Carefree Theater" to see what I mean)

- Is it possible to send the "Reload command" to when the zipcode is entered? This way when a zip is entered, it will just display the theaters for that zip, with no need to enter, and then hit the reload command.

- Some of the text is coming up as some sort of unicode, possibly put a few if/thens in the plugin to filter these out? Also, the full description of the movie doesn't seem to be pulled. Its at this point that the strange characters appear at the end of the description. (See 2nd screen capture)

- Can you make the details screen use a custom list as well, so it can be smooth scrolled and such, instead of using a label?

All in all this is very well written and a huge addition to Road Runner for sure! Kudos!

Here are a couple of screen caps of it integrated into my skin. I added transparent iLists, as well as a slider on the side.

can you check your poster art folder and see if movies are downloading. I've noticed that some theater webpages dont have poster art available.. or there in the form of .swf or some random extension.

will check your zip for that and post results. Could be a site limitation though.

i have noticed this too over the weekend testing. Will check it your zip and post results

i would LOVE to do this and have been searching for a solution. I'm trying to replace numosk with "ziposk" or some other form of osk, the only problem is if i do that it doesnt work the same way numosk does. the zip code never gets stored in the variable. I'll have to talk to guino about this because i'm sure its just a problem with my lack of knowledge of rr's coding

this has been fixed as of friday but no release has been made.

very good idea. I'll add options for either a list or a variable
