f'real.
It's so feature packed, I just spent the last hour trying to get familiar w/ how it all comes together.
Question tho.
Can the RR Media handle external media? (i.e. iPods & misc. MP3 players, flashdives, etc.)
I also noticed no room for album art. Any way to extract paths from the CL window?

Great to hear such good news!
And once the slight learning curve is gone, nothing but PURE power at your finger tips. See, to me, it just flows naturally... The only reason that it does have that learning curve is that it is SO different than the regular browsing that everyone is so used to, and yet makes it powerful because of it.

I was wondering how long before this was brought up and asked about. This is probably the next step to take. One thing at a time as you cant just have/add a bunch of features if you don't have a solid foundation to work from. The other reason that it doesn't handle external sources yet, is because I don't ever use any, meaning that everywhere usually am, I have my tunes with me ie..house, car, and work via port HD. I have yet to own a portable media player, the car is about as close to portable as i come.

John also had a comment about this missing. I'm not exactly sure how i want to tackle this yet... comments or suggestions might help to add this as a feature quicker...

Yeah, I'm already used it. Honestly, it didn't take long. Most of the time spent was editting the demo skins to disply which buttons did what and what menu skins were being called. Luckily for me, the way you laid out RRMedia is VERY conducive to how I laid out my skin. It'll be challenging cramming in all those features and keep it neat and tidy.

If it was just me, yeah it wouldn't be a problem, but my wife like to plug in her iPod, my niece/nephew likes to plug in their sandisks.

I'm guessing you've got to building some kind of of array database for the music? How about using RR's built in "coverfile" variable as part of the search critera? Most RR users must have included the album image/file type in there music collection to each folder and the "old" audio_browser set those images. Couldn't something like that be implemented and the image set using an IXX..."RRMALBUMART" or similar?
The ultimate solution would be using MP3art, but that's over my head.

Great work -- takes a bit of work to get used to the paradigm shift, but I'm really liking the new interface...

Is there, like, a trick to get the Ratings indicators to work? I've been adding ratings to songs, but the indicators update sporadically when the song starts?

No, just clicking on the stars is all that is needed. I haven't had any issues with the ratings part at all... little more specific as to what its doing, not doing might help as well

Well, it's two things related w/the ratings.
I've been adding ratings to various songs, but sometimes only a few of the actual songs I've rated show up when browsing by ratings.
The other issue is that even when a song is added to a specific rating and it does show up through browsing by ratings, when that specific song starts, it doesn't always update the RM_*start indicators. I mean is that sometimes it updates, sometimes it doesn't.

How about the coverart for other browsing methods? i.e. Artist & Album?

Because of the fact that it is db powered, the coverart for browsing artist view would be really hard to code for, as for the album that wouldn't be too bad..
Though, once I get what I'm working on done and working, will take a look and see what i can come up with.

If i have DFX4 installed with RRMedia working, if i want to use RRMedia stand-alone with another skin - do i have to run the (in the first post) intaller? Sorry, don't want to mess nothing up in DFX4.

Unfortunately, because of all the cmds and their under lying logic, RRMedia will only run correctly with a skin that has it fully integrated.
That IS the only downside to my plugin.
