rebuild issues :(
seemingly at random i get build errors during rescan and i'm looking for a workaround. i'd say 75% of the time i do rebuilds (twice a week) it goes through flawlessly. But then randomly i'll get an message box like this:
near "S": syntax error
hitting OK on the message box stops the build process. A peek at the debug shows me its the following music file thats giving me issues
Code:
4/6/2009 8:54:25 AM: RRMedia Builder> C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\My Music\Rap\DJ Khaled\We The Best\dj khaled - new york.mp3
4/6/2009 8:54:25 AM: RRMedia Builder> C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\My Music\Rap\DJ Khaled\We The Best\dj khaled - s on my chest.mp3
4/6/2009 8:54:26 AM: RRMedia Builder> near "S": syntax error
but if i remove that one song i continue to get errors on other songs... none of which have invalid characters. The only way i can get around this issue is to delete my database and build from scratch. Why would this syntax problem only occur sometimes rather than at each rebuild. It never happens on newly added songs just ones that have been there from the beginning.

Hard so say, I have been slowly working on this plugin to update it and theres so much to update and so little time..
I believe that the builder is pretty much done, I just have to add the support for an alt support files folder location setting. The dll is about 50% and have yet to update the main exe.
I figure that if I can just put a few mins towards it here and there, I can get it finished and at some point released.

believe me i know what thats like lol. I went ahead and deleted my db. How do i get the files in Rate.in back into the db? I spose i could create a ratings .m3u and have it imported that way but is there a "official" way to do it?

Ya, its very easy...just delete the db file and rescan, it will pick up the rate file automacally and import them, assuming that the paths still match.
Was the hole idea behind have that backup file...

A quick question about "RM_PLSelect" add "Select". I made a playlist for the songs in ipod. If use "SELECT" to load the playlist, all songs name is the 4 mixed letter, but "RM_PLSelect" command got the correct name. What is the difference between these 2 command?
Here is my playlist : ipod.m3u

Sorting Issue in RRMedia
I am trying to see if the sorting issue in RRMedia has been resolved. I saw it was discussed in the thread.
The issue...I have an album that I want to add to one of the 10 discs but I want it sorted by Track Number. When I go into the playlist, I choose sort by track, it works, go back to choose the entire album to add to the disc. I select the disc but the songs are not in the correct sort order. What I am missing?
Latest 4/1/09 RR
Latest RR media
DFX4 skin
Thanks for your help...

Browse formatting issue.
If my browser mode is set to songs, I don’t have the artist included in the song info even though I have my RRconfig browse set to %artist% - %title%. I have checked all my setting in RRconfig, it all looks good and my playlist formatting is working fine. I’m guessing it has to do with RRMedia doing it’s thing with my data base. Is this correct, does RRmedia not use the config formatting for the browser? And if so is there a way to it to display with Artist included?
I searched for hours on this with no luck. It worked in the past. I don’t know when it stopped working but I’m guessing at one of my up grades of RR. I'm using the 4/18/09 ver RR and a modified version of DigitalFX 4.0.
Thanks

RRMedia does not make use of the id3 formating setting in RR when displaying results. It probably could make some use of them. I can add it to the list of things to check into, and won't be in this upcoming version.

RRmedia / Star Rating crash
I am using DX4.0's star rating to rate my songs. I've already rated about 1000 songs. The other day, I went to rate a song and a windows box popped up and crashed the rating program. I then rebooted the computer, but I have lost all of my ratings! Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks for the help in advance.
