I updated to latest RRMedia (already had latest RR), wanted to add some new songs so I did a Rescan. All of my songs were removed instead of adding the new ones.
If I remember correctly, I renamed RRMmediaDB.ini and restarted RR. It reloaded my library and all was fine except the volume issue mentioned.
I am thinking about uninstalling and reinstalling with the previous version to see but I can wait until the next update.

Renaming that file will simply make it recreate a new fresh one using all the defaults, would be the same as deleting it.

Renaming or deleting my database file doesn't do anything.

Is the RRMedia icon in your tray? Do you have the RoadRunner.exe running? The current v1.2.2 looks for the old exe name(is fixed for next one) so if the old exe is not running then it exited soon after it was started due to thinking that RR wasn't running.

I have that exact same problem. Also, nothing shows up under the plugin manager in DFX 4.

Then a dialog pops up that says something about no such volume table. I looked in the voltable.ini and there is nothing but comments but I think that is the default anyway. Whats going on here?
Please help. I have spent close to 20 hrs trying to debug an error that I get on startup and I have finally tracked it down to the media db plugin.
Edit: I am on the latest version 1.2.2 and I just reinstalled to make sure everything was fine. Still getting error.
I was able to fix this by deleting the media.db and backup... The media.db is not easy to find, one has to look in your root music path.

This is related to the 5/1/09 release, the added img list support and incorrect skin files with an incorrect custom list definition.
My DT PSU crapped out on sunday , so momentarly can't exactly get to said files that I fixed. I'll see what I can do have John post a Fixed zip of all the DFX screens that contain a custom list.

Just do this in Any skin that has Ilist BEFORE list definitions:
SC,55,140,381,373,#DFX1R#,#DFX1G#,#DFX1B#,255,128, 0,255,255,255,0,0,0,,20,"Arial"
IL,CL,transparent.bmp,sel.bmp,end.bmp,2,50,80
Flip em so the Ilist is after....
And it all works again. Something IN the last RR release?

NO, Jebus, just a illegal skin command there...
the SC definition is bad... the 255 after #DFX1b# should be a 0

FYI...
No PSU yet, but....
John is/has posted in the #2 post in the DFX thread a zip of all the screens that have a custom list defined with all the correct parameters. So now works with all RR versions again...

Virtual Disk Problem
I have read this entire thread looking for an answer, but couldnt seem to find one. I am using v. 1.2.2 and DFX 4.0, my database works wonderful, never any errors, the only problem I am having is I will open RR, and assign names to all my Virtual Disks, and then add all the songs I want to each one. Then I will push the backup button and it says it backs up the disks and everything works fine. However when I reboot the machine, I go back and open RR again and all of my Virtual Disks go back to default, no names, no songs, I push restore Disk, and it restores nothing. Any ideas? Thanks!

After you back them up, look in your music path for a RMDisksbackup._ file. If its there(should be), open in notepad and see if it has disk names/tracks.

Thanks Blue, I will check that later when I am home, so if it does have the disk names and tracks then it should be ok?
