Hey, I'm having an issue with RRMedia (i guess) that is being used in the DigitalFX skin for RR.
I can't seem to be able to get it to scan past 24%.
Problem breakdown is as follows:
I install DigitalFX, in the skin I go to music, then Browser.
It askes me to create a music DB, so I click on the button, it scans the HDD, counts about 2400 of 11000ish songs (approx 24%) and then just stops there.
What am I missing? I even tried installing RRmedia plug in on it's own right from your site. I also sometimes get error boxes that pop up after exiting RR saying RPC server errors or something of the sort (not sure if that is related).
System is running Win XP Pro, with the current version of RR and flash installed. Everything else seems to work just fine, just the DB I can't seem to get it past that 24% mark.
Thanks
-Sascha

See the Builder_debug.txt in the RR\RMDatabase folder after you have that problem, and it will give you more details about whats causing it or at least what song its stopping on.

Also, make sure you have the latest version of RRMedia -- if I recall correctly DFX 4.0 ships with an outdated one...

Builder_debug.txt doesn't exist anywhere.... I searched in every RR directory.
Also, I'm using the newest RRMedia... I downloaded it directly from Blue ZX3's site and installed it.
I also tried to manually execute the DB builder in the RMdatabase folder... It also stops at the same place, and then all off a sudden just exits the builder. No messages nothing.
Is there a command line switch maybe that will made the builder create the debug txt file?

K, sorry I think i forgot about the debug opt...Duh
in the RMDatabase\Support Files\builder.ini file check/change your setting to:
[Debug]
Status=True
Then try again, deleting the db before hand to start freash. You should then get that file in the RMDatabase folder...

^^^ sorry to say but that doesn't seem to work either... I've added:
[Debug]
Status=True
to the builder.ini but after running the builder again no debug file is generated and if i go back to check builder.ini it has erased the lines i added.

I'm just getting dfx4 going with riderunner and I've almost got rrmedia working, but not quite.
I installed riderunner, then dfx4 and then rrmedia 1.2.2.
If I run rmbuilder.exe, riderunner starts and the database is created in my mp3 directory (f:\mp3)
Rerunning riderunner gets me: "No Media Database found"
and there's nothing to see in the browser, but it is showing the browser so dfx seems to think that the media db is there.
The builder txt file only has two lines in it.. "communitation OK" and "scan took 1secs"
debug msgs.txt only has "starting up" twice.
there's also files not supported and files missing tag info, but that's about it for debugging.
Am I missing something obvious here?

Should I have installed riderunner in C:\Program Files\Roadrunner or
C:\Program Files\RideRunner ?
(I copied the RMDatabase from roadrunner to riderunner and the autoscan started working)
If so, I'm guessing I have to reinstall riderunner (in roadrunner) then reinstall dfx4 and then rrmedia?

Dunno about should, but I moved the files off to a safe directory and reinstalled everything into
C:\Program Files\Road Runner\ and it all seems fine now.
(Haven't fully tested, I'm doing this remote from work, wifi into the car
Thanks everyone for being a good ear. <grin>

No, the path doesn't matter!! My WIP copy is on a port HD and has a folder name of 'RR Testing', just as an example....
And works with both the old 1.2.2 ver and 1.2.3 to be released ver.
Sorry for not getting back to this sooner, been busy with just about everything else...

Damn... well then I guess I'm still gonna be stuck with my DB issue. I don't get why I seem to be the only one having this issue.
I really hope its something simple like a song stopping it (which I believe is the case)... now just to be able to see which song it's actually stopping on
Any more insight into why the Debug thing isn't workin' for me Blue ZX3?
