RRTubeEx [Youtube Plugin]

heres a simple version of YouTube integrated into RR, i did it for my own use, but i decided to make it public....

all settings for the player are in skin.ini(can be moved to rr.ini if needed), youtube.ini is no longer used.

with the newest RR release images in custom lists are possible, i updated this plugin with this nice feature, thanks guino..
dont forget to run register.bat again, very important, and read "Skin Commands.txt"

its just a quicky image i think i may even release with this style, its the same skin file ,just the video loads over the list , then hit stop to return to list, graphics need a tidy up but shows how easy it is to add .

I guess I should have expected you to use the RRpath\plugins directory for your exectbl commands but that was easily fixed. Now your challenge should you choose to accept it:
1. Set YT_MOVIE to TRACKNAME.
2. Send YT_ART to ALBUMART.
3. Send selection to external playlist with autoplay.
4. Fullscreen switch

I really love the fact that it doesn't stop playing when I switch screens like the video player does. After playing with this for just a few minutes, I can see getting rid of most of my music videos and just using this.

Great work on this. OBTW, here's a capture of it in Shock 6.1.1.

Great work on this Elcamino! I have it working well in a test skin here.

Now, here is a challenge to anyone out there that knows flash well

Google / Youtube now has a flash API for creating the video window however you want. You can remove the border as well as all of the controls from the video window.

The advantages are that you would just embed it as a SWF, and can resize it to whatever you want in the skin, and not have to state the size in the script itself. I have also found that swf's embed very nicely and do not have the problems of trying to get them line up perfectly as is the case with embedding an application.

Here is a link describing how the API works.

Here is a demo of the player, with no borders. The controls are also all external to the video, meaning you can easily skin the play, pause, stop, mute and such for the video just creating button codes to send those commands to the video.

This should not be too hard to implement, as all of the searching and such is done with the plugin now, it is just a matter of changing the play window. I wish I knew more flash, but unfortunately I do not....

yeap, if you need the source for the current version i'll send it your way. i would like to have it better integrated than the way it is now.

great i'll check it out. And i dunno if anyone else would want this or whatever but you may want to consider creating a label for the number of results found. I'm creating basically a "party mode" in my skin in which the results list can be played straight thru or shuffled. I need a list count in my to set the limit in my math.random statement. Would also help skinners that want to know when they've reached list end. Here's ur work flashstyle

course if noone else cares about the list label its something i can easily add myself. No biggie.

I just loaded the new beta and it no longer allows resizing the You Tube window. How can I fix this. The window size you set is half the size I prefer on my 1024x768 screen. Can you make the window size another attribute added to the "youtube.exe" It would help with those of us that use multiple skins, i.e., "youtube.exe|play|400|350" That way each of the skins I use can have direct control over the size of the window loaded.

Also, has anyone else experienced problems viewing a second video from the searchlist. The first video loads fine. But if I select a second and hit play nothing happens. I had to put a "closewindow;ElcoYT||" before the search and play commands to get around this.
