Is there a way to have the distance "buzzer" come through the actual PC? My buzzer isn't working on my USB unit out of nowhere and I loved the beep-beep-beep as I would get closer to the target.. If this could happen via the PC/Car Speakers that would rock..

Thanks

I've been asking the exact same thing for the Centrafuse plugin version of this.......... hopefully we'll get what we're after, but I suppose they'll have a million different requests thrown at them all the time so I'm just being patient, but I think it would be a very useful feature for a lot of users so hopefully worth their time to add it in.

May I suggest to solve the problem with your buzzer connected to the USB interface.
Certainly it could be also possible to implement the beep-beep through the PC, but the benefits to having it directly from the USB interface are manifold:
It's immediately available when the PC is turned on, even if it has not finished to boot.
No problems with the volume level, too low or too high when you're listening music.
And, above all, it's in real time, no delay due to the data processing on the PC.

By the way, what problem have you got with the buzzer?

I would love to solve the problem with it on my USB device.. I have no idea what happened.. It just stopped working.. I emailed Dejan about it but haven't heard back from him..

Have you tried to connect the buzzer directly to a power source between 5 to 12 volts (such as a 9 V battery) to see if it works?
If it works, the problem could be due by the transistor BC547B burned, or, more simply, the buzzer may have been disabled trough the command "PDC_BUZZER".

Sigh, I'm such an idiot.. I didn't know that volume button in the skin disabled the buzzer on the actual unit.. I was pressing it the one day to see if the sound would come through the car speakers so I must have disabled it..

Hit it today and it works.

Thanks

That button toggles ON/OFF the buzzer and the status is stored in the E2PROM memory of the USB interface, so if you disable the buzzer, it will remain disabled until you press it again.

Where could I get the buzzer from? I was thinking radio shack. I purchased a kit from Dejan and the buzzer was an optional device (not supplied with kit).

EDIT: Just answered my own question with a little research. Sorry about that fellas

Hi,
If you buy whole kit from me with sensors then you can take buzzer from LCD screen.
Open it(you will see two screws) and you will se inside one buzzer with two wires(red&black). Check on front side of buzzer which wire is +(is writen one + on it) because Im see few kits where black wire is + and red is ground :S
Then check on main thread where is scheme which wire you must put in which pin on connector...
With PS holmes check if you have enabled buzzer(speaker must be in normal colors)...

Dejan,

I bought the kit from you. I opened the display (the half moon looking display with distance in the middle of L and R). I opened it up and there is no buzzer located in it. No worries though, I found one at radio shack for $5.00

Hm,
Did you look on USB board maybe Im already connect it... I know that on last 4-5 kit's which Im sell Im take buzzer and connect it into connector and locate it in plastic case or board.

P.S. Buzzer must be DC 5V

You sure did...man that thing is tiny. How loud is it? Do I need to install the board close close to the dash to hear it?

So you have it in box? Yes it is tiny. I think you will hear it if you have it somewhere in the dash, maybe you will hear it if you have it in boot... Try it and you will see...
