PM sent.
I could help sending an email to bluesoleil (that seems to be very much on their toes when it comes to support! 5 stars!)
snip-
Dear B-O, Thanks for interesting in BlueSoleil.
We are working on the Dialer API for 3rd party APPs, it will be released on Q2.
Regarding Skin, we support part to skin function. You could find all the PNG files and re-design them to be replaced. Folder: …:\Program Files\IVT Corporation\BlueSoleil\BlueSoleil dialer\images\...
Best regards, Eric Xia IVT Corporation

I was looking at the SDK, but what I really want to do is to skin the magnific Dialer! Can this be done?

Just replacing png files are maybe not so fun, but the Dialer API does! Are we inventing the wheel here?

I found them very helpful too and my contact was with Eric as well.
We could just reskin it but I see a couple of problems (and they're not serious).
I assume the buttons have to be in the same place as there is no skin file showing position of buttons etc.
The dialer only has phone functionality. There is more functionality in the sdk (but it may not be useful)
It costs money!
Its not integrated well with RoadRunner (Personnal choice).
But mostly your right in that its not much fun. I've learn't an enourmous amount doing this when I'm not a coder by trade.
I'm looking forward to when they release the phonebook and sms stuff in qtr 2 and will be integrating it into this plugin.
I have a new version with caller id, incall and model / manufacturer labels but haven't released it yet as my chief tester is having trouble. Anyone brave enough to risk it can pm me and I'll send them the new version.

I tried it briefly with my blackberry storm and it didnt connect. Course blackberry's bluetooth support is "different" to say the least.. so i really didnt expect much to happen.

Just a quick update.
Been working on splitting this into two seperate dll's. One for a plugin for rr. The other just as a wrapper dll that can be used by any app to integrate with BlueSoleil. I intend to release the wrapper dll and a little test program to show how to use it in vb.net.
Things going well so far with most stuff working. Just need to redo my mobilephone dll to accept the new plugin.
Problem at the moment is getting th new dll to run on a different pc from my own but hopefully we'll crack that soon.

I've posted the standalone dll now at this thread
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/code...l-wrapper.html.
Still reworking the mobilephone plugin to use it without bugs.
Just so people know. Tried this and the new wrapper with a Blackberry 8120 over the weekend and it worked fine.

A few questions as I know absolutely nothing about coding. First, I take it the standalone is just the core coding and some work needs to be done to actually use it. Correct? Second, If my above assumption is correct, has anyone made use of the standalone that would mind sharing the GUI? Third, I saw mention of the iphone. Is the iphone supported by this app? I'm still trying to figure all this stuff out so any help is appreciated.

OK. to make things clear. The stand alone is what I would call a wrapper. It allows features of the sdk to be used in an easier format based around the kind of things needed for a carpc. You need to make some code that uses this wrapper to integrate into your front end of choice.
Now at the moment I am converting my mobilephone plugin to use this wrapper so an rr version will be available soon.
For any other front end I leave it for others to code.
Just as a side note this wrapper does not currently work with the plugin attached to this thread.
The gui that I gave with the wrapper in the other thread is more for coders to understand how to interact with the wrapper using vb code.
Lastly , I dont have an iphone so cannot comment on whether it works. Have you tried the bluesoleil website to check if its supported.

*** New Release 1.0.0.5 *****
This version uses my stand alone wrapper dll so is a pretty major rewrite so I've left the original version here as well just in case.
Find it in the first post.
