same problem results. my ONSONGSTART command must not work?

ive tried that too. thats what i originally had. and no its not duplicated in either of the files and it exists in only one of the two. anyway, if i run ratecheck.exe, it works. so your plugin is fine. well, almost fine, cuz it rates unrated songs with the rating of the most recent rated song. i personally think its somethin to do with that command. i agree the coding all looks good. i dont get why it wont work. it just seems like the ONSONGSTART command doesnt do anything. do u think you could do a zero star playlist? that would solve my problems. but then there is the problem of running ratecheck.exe after every song change. hm. more thinking to do..

ive been doing some debuggin (decompiled the exe and looked at it)
$musicpath gets the right information : d:\music\
$musiccddrive picks up : d:
$playlistpath picks up d:\program files\road runner\playlist\
$track shows up as blank
$trackpath shows up as blank
so from the looks of it this line is wrong/not working
$track = $rr.GetInfo("trackpath")

looks like I accomplished something
as of now rating a song creates a new m3u file, AND writes d: to it.
not much but hey at least its something

well no matter what I do.
$rr.GetInfo("trackpath")
Is not pulling the information. This could be a problem with roadrunner itself, maybe trackpath varible is broken.
GetInfo("=$TRACKPATH$")
doesnt work either

well trackpath works as a varible in RR.
So it has to be some obscure com/activex issue. I give up

you know I was thinking.
Wouldn't it be better to use SENDMSG to send the trackinfo to the autoit script. instead of trying to get the script to pull it out of RR?
I'm off to spend some time with the wife. So cant play with this. Best of luck.

I do that alot.
right now im being bad by trying to either understand sendmsg
or copydata....
im also trying to pull apart receiver.au3 to see if i can figure out how to send ratings.exe the trackpat
exec.exe REQUEST;Receiver;TRACKPATH
works just fine sending the information via WM_COPYDATA
main problem here is im not a programmer and dont understand half of the structure or functions. I know just enough to look at code and get the gist of how it works.

well i found out whats wrong.
global $trackpath sets $trackpath as a blank variable.
then
$track = $rr.GetInfo("TRACKPATH")
gets the trackpath like its supposed to
Now here was the problem
elseif StringInStr($track, $musicdrive) then
$track = $trackpath
was basically setting $track to null.
right now im getting an oddity in the m3u it's placing D: twice in the playlist entry. dunno prob something i screwed up
d:d:\music\the all-american rejects - it ends tonight.mp3
in any case im close.
Trackpath works just fine.

ok fixed the double D: tho probably at the expense of breaking something else
still having other issues.
if i rate anything with a 5 star rating 4 stars.m3u is also create. but blank
if i rate anything with a 4 star rating nothing happens. 4 stars.m3u stays blank.
fun times
