For the most part the rr.ini does not really have anything to do with a skin beside point RR to which skin you want to use. The file you want to look in is the ExecTBL.ini file in the DFX 4.0 skin folder.

Hi, looks great but I cannot seem to get it to work. The button icons are there but no text and when clicked the buttons do not work. The media buttons at the bottom work.
I have winamp 2.95 installed. RR is 8th may 08 version. Is this the latest?
Thanks for any help.

Not sure if it'll help, but from what I understand...
From the help files:
"You must be using a Road Runner Release after 05/27/08 to take advantage of all of this skins features."
"You will also need Winamp 5.13 (No earlier releases, no later releases)"

I still have the same problem although I now have a clock in the middle of the menu which I didn't have before. The RR version is 02 Nov 07 winamp 5.13 as stated.
I found many pages ago, someone who had the same problem and he was told to set skin.ini "background=RGB000C41" rather than point it to the background folder but neither work

A clock has appeared in the centre of the main menu since I updated these two things. But the menu buttons still do not work!

I current skin (new age the latest one they have) I like the icon layout on that one but this skin rocks I'm gonna switch. My problem though is I don't like the OBD II interface. Infact I don't like most interfaces on any of the front ends or skins as i believe it's actually called. They mostly went to needle type guages or digital meters like the skyline. I love Centrafuses layout on the OBD II skin, simple yet has all the engine info. clear and concise. Now I know someone gonna say, "skin it" I have not a lick of programming. I know the difference of embed and skinning but not sure the procedure do do first. I read forums several hundred of them (very large helpful community) but I find it's generally writtin for people that are already VB or C++ oriented..especially for the fusion relay programming. I need a Dummie for skinning and embedding tutorial...hint hint... Other than that I love Roadrunner and the DFX is perfect addon skin. I'll be sending a nice donation as soon as I figure out how to skin my OBDII software. I might use obd-diag program to look like centrafuses skin as thats the only 1, I like. I seem to have a few problems with the DFX skin.. some buttons lock up the program (Im working, so I can't test currently). Then I have to taskman... To exit and restart. it's from fresh install windows xp Sp3. Any suggestions would be great.
current upgrades I want to implement onto DFX
*voice active complete control (windows up/down,start,door locks, blinkers, windshield wipers moon roof ect)..using Dragons Natually Speaking 9.5
*play all emulators except Xbox 360, Ps3 ( with all inventoried games) just need to embed the emulators, I have the roms already... help please
*OBD II (centrafuses skin) or icon setup atleast.
the rest of the roadrunner DFX Skin is great!
$150 is what im willing to donate as soon as my project clears for car install. It's not better than 249.99 but i figure it's sure worth more but it's my cutoff limit for budget.. I got kidz...lol hence the emulators...backseat will be quite...it's woth a million bucks...

I'm going to take a wild guess (cause i'm still not sure what the problem is) and say your first line in Exec.TBL is messed-up. Replace the "ONSKINSTART" line in Exec.tbl with this one and see what happens..
Code:
"OnSkinStart","SetApps||SetCommandLabels01||SetAppLabels||SetIcons||GammaSlider||ExtraPrograms"
"ExtraPrograms","2DLogo||UserSwitch||CDLaunch||Counter||3DLogo||SetTempBackground||PresetLoader||IGSettingLoader||SETVAR;RRLoaded;Loaded||ReLock"

Treetop, the buttons show on the menu(s) but no text in those buttons.
Nygie, just for ****s and giggles, re-install flash using IE (not Firefox)
If that fails, uninstall DFX and RR, then re-install them, but be sure to turn off ANY and all Spyware, Firewall, and Anti virus software. (As far as that's concerned, have NO other programs running.
Try that, unless someone else has a better idea.

Sweet mate, that worked a treat.
I had an onskinstart entry that turned the spacenavigator lights on... that may have been the problem.
Thanks for your time.
I'll do some eploring tomorrow night when the wife is working
Thanks again.

Same question about 1inch bar down in the middle
<Question: When I start the skin, all I see is a 1" bar down the middle of the screen. How do I fx that?
Solution: The DIgitalFX skin uses transparency. Open the rr.ini file in Road Runner's root folder and ensure Fastmode=-1 is in there. If not add it, if its another value, change it to -1>
I checked the Fastmode=-1 in rr.ini file and installed new adobe flash but still having a problem that only can see 1inch bar
John plz help

CarPC helps to get help on the scene?
Ok, this is so far off topic from the skin, that I can't even really justify posting it in my own thread! Off topic or not, I had to tell someone about the crazy night I had.
It started like any other Sat night, going out with some friends, having a few drinks and a good time.
It was not until the drive home that things changed. I had just gotten off the interstate, and was sitting at a light to turn right. There was a car in front of me, and this guy staggered up and banged on the passenger window. I watched as the car pulled forward to avoid him, and the guy collapsed to the ground. I backed up, and pulled to the side of the off ramp and put it in park, as something just did not seem right. One would think great, a homeless person, a beggar, a drunk who knows, but something told me it was more than that.
As I got out of the car and walked up, he was gasping for air. He looked Spanish and asked him if he spoke English, and he somewhat shook his head no the best that he could, and gasped Espanol... At that point he collapsed completely. He was young, and looked to be about 20 years old or so.
As I looked him over, he had some sort of stab wound to his chest and was bleeding pretty bad, as well as from the nose and mouth. I was a medic in the Army some years ago and something just kicked in. I checked his breathing... he had stopped breathing. I did the whole can you hear me, shook his shoulders ect... no response.
I ran back to the car, got the first aid kit, and pulled out the plastic tube for CPR that prevents mouth to mouth contact. Another car was stopping at the light and I was yelling to them to call 911. I administered CPR, and in just a short time, and he choked and began to gasp for air. I then rolled him on his side so he would not choke on any blood and such.
I then called 911 myself to report it. They said they had received a call, and they were dispatching to Forrest Hill and I-95. I told them that was wrong! I was at I-95 and 6th ave (2 exists to the south of where they thought we were). She told me the person who called gave that location. I was adiment and told her it was wrong. I ran back to the car, and gave her the exact Lat and Lon of where we were (From the already open RR of course). Within a couple of minutes a police car showed up, followed by another a few seconds after that.
it was a lot more eventful night that I had anticipated! The police thanked me for stopping and helping, and dismissed me politely to basically leave.
I dont know what part I played, or the CarPC played in the whole thing, but it did help to pinpoint precisely where we were. I am sure I will never know what happened with they guy, and am sure they will not tell me if I try to call and ask.
I had my camera in my pocket, and took this photo as I was walking away.
(I blurred out the guy more out of respect, as I do not know his condition, or if he actually made it or not).
