Wow, John! Some night. Most people, like the car in front, would have left him to die. Hats off to you for helping.

Hats off to you John! Awesome job you are truely a great person for doing that. As said before, most people would of probably just left him to die. And yes if it wasn't for your rr and gps you might of been waiting longer! Congrats to you! God bless hope that man is ok!
Makes me proud to be part of a great forum as this one! There are so many great people out there and you just backed me up with this kind of story! GREAT JOB!

Sounds like he had Tension Pnuemo from the chest wound. The CPR sometimes is enough to force just enough oxygen into the bloodstream to keep someone alive, or in your care revive them. Immediate CPR in my personal experiences as a Medic works very well a good number of the times. Good job and fast thinking. I with out a doubt think that gentlemen owes a good bit of gratitude to you, but that's not why you do it.
Funny thing about the GPS, I have used it in similar situations. I installed a Laptop in my Fire Companies Rescue Apparatus before leaving PA. I used RR and showed everyone how to use the navigation. I added features to show the location of every hydrant in towns so everyone loved it. I have been told every time a Life Flight Helicopter is called to a scene in the area that the other companies call our Rescue so we can give exact Lat and Long and landing site live weather!

Gps Gps Gps
This may have a simlple answer, but can't seem to find the solution.
Im using Garmin Mobile PC. The issue is that it won't start up from with the DFX skin.
- i changed the DFX skin button to "Garmin GPS"
- i setup the RRconfig to use Garmin QUe, with the correct CommPort
When i click on the GPS button. All i get is a blank screen with the buttons on the bottom (Garmin Skin, i assumig).
The only way i can get the button to actually bring up Garmin is by first going to "MUSIC", then clicknig on the GPS button there. Once Garmin loads, i can now click on the "GPS" button again (outside of MUSIC, aka The Garmin dedicated button).
From this point on i can go in and out of the menus including the Garmin "GPS" button without issue.
So i guess what im asking is.
How can you get Garmin Mobile PC to start just by clicking on the dedicated GPS button.
I checked the ini settings in the EXTERNAL section of the DFX skin, and i found an entry there that was point Garmin Que to the "I" drive. I swiched this to "C", but didn't make any difference.
ANyone able to get this working properly?
thanks

Nice job, John. Not knowing CPR or keeping a first aid kit in my car (which I probably should), there's no way I could have done what you did. I do hope most people would stop long enough to make a 911 call in that situation. Was it a bad part of town?

John, that's really impressive. If you were not to have performed CPR on that guy, he would have been dead. Hopefully that guy is fine. Much respect to you for what you did.

Well done John, seems there really are no problems you can't solve!
I know Roadrunner has many features, but saving lives ?!? lol
Also wanted to remention the problem I'm having with RR/DFX 4.0 chatting s**t, it quite often, usually when booting PC up, or browsing music, is talking to me, and doesn't seem to wanna ever shut up! Says things like 'background reset', 'setting coms', 'user switch' and some other random jargen.
I think this might have something to do with the user function on DFX 4, as I didn't get this problem with 3.0.
I didn't want to report as a bug, becuase it probably isn't, just would like to know if anyone else has/had this problem and if there is anything I could do about it.
Thanks for your time,
Phil

mostly
having read through most of the posts on DFX4 and mitch's RR, you could run into a couple of things, but for the most part it works.

New weather selector.....
Ok, there was one last thing bothering me about the weather pages. That was putting in a location correclty. In Florida for instance, if I would put in "Miami" It would set the location to Miami, AZ (Who even knew there was a Miami in Arizona!?!)
After some tinkering, and a small but of scripting, I think I solved it! Now if there is more than one location with that city name, a menu will come up allowing you to choose the city that you want. This is also helpful for area's other than the United States, as it will usually show a list of cities, and allow you to choose one.
Here is a little preview of it in action:
