Hmm, I don't even have the compass. I have 2 GPS symbols, which I don't know why there are 2. There is a large one to left center and a small one by the stars.

From what i read putting usedx=false will disable iList completely? Even though it is true in the skin.ini?
In that case what is iliststatus value in the skin.ini?
I am trying to get my cpu usage down. Seems like it says close or at 100 a lot. Even with usedx=false it doesn't seem to help but after 5-10min it does go down.

1 in is in the actual menu skin. 1 is in the Indicators.txt file. I removed the one from the Menu skins, with no adverse effects.

But i would like the heading to work. I looked at my indicators file and it lists heading, but it just shows the gps symbol for the heading.

That is correct. John used it to show when RR was recieving valid GPS info, instead of the directions. All you have to do if you want the direction displayed instead, you'll have to replace the 8 ( N,NW,W,SW,S,SE,E,NE ) jpg files with an arror indicating the directiond of the name of the jpg file.

Cool, I can just copy the files from the old skin.
Thanks
What about gps speed? Looks like it is in the menu.skin.

You just need to move it and make the displayed area bigger, right now I think its probably like 1x1 pixel big, basically hidden so that the compass would work etc..

Hmm already, I will see if I can figure it out. How do you figure out the coordinates to move it?
Indicators
I went back to my backup of my old install and the images still just have the GPS icon.
......
Just checked I guess I didn't realize the last time i had the compass was with the CFX skin. Well I will just copy those over.
In CFX there are 2 for each direction, a gif and a jpg. Will the gif work which has transparent backgrounds?

FYI...I also was running the CFX skin just before DFX, but that was a while back...
You might also want to look where as I did make some iG looking arrow symbols HERE

Great, I will try that.
Do I need to do everything the post says or just copy the images over?

To just use the std RR indicator, just copy over the img's and change the ext to jpg, or you can follow those directions and get a more functional indicator..

Thanks, sorry about all the questions.
For the more functional, can I add heading2 to the indicator text file? And the leave the existing heading alone?
Would this work for gps speed
L,408,4,101,25,255,255,255,16,#DFX1R#,#DFX1G#,#DFX 1B#,0,#DFXFont#,"GPSSPD","CENTER"
I copied the coordinates from my digitafx2.0 menu
Thanks again. I think this should do it.
I will leave the sat readio signal meter alone till the next release, same for youtube since I don't have my 3g card yet, just edge
I take it "/" in a skin file is a remark?

I don't know what to tell you. It worked for me and no one else has ever mentioned that it doesn't work for them. It's possible that you have a non-standard path that's causing issues with the location of the indicators but I don't know.

The GPSSPD and GPSHDG labels are in the menu skins, and are 0 x 0 pixels, this way you do not see them.
They are there, asif you choose the menu layout option to show the speedometer, or the compass on the main menu, they have to be defined in the skin so the flash compass and speedo can use the variables to get the information.
If you want to actually see the labels, you can resize them and move them to where ever you want. Removing them from the menu skin, will prevent either the compass or speedo from working if you have them displayed on the main menu.
