2. Thanks for that I didn't know there was a helper folder.
3. the vlc and mpc both able to play those rm and rmvb video and I have the xp codec pack installed. The problem is those rm, rmvb file types not showing up when I try to browse it under RR (for example: when I browse it under video, they are not listed, I have to manually change them to avi)
Thanks again
I believe you go into RRCONFIG and add .exe, .rm, remb and whatever other extensions you under audio types. I dont have RR installed on this computer so i'm not 100% that's the name but it's under "audio"

Did you upgrade to the latest version of RRMedia?

Cover Art Browser not displaying cover art - cover art shown in Player
First of all I would like to say that this is an excellent skin and is currently running nicely on my carputer; thanks to all who have contributed to it. After spending a couple of months reading through this thread, I have not yet found a solution to a problem I have with the Cover Art Browser.
It is my understanding that I should be able to see cover art when I enter the Cover Art Browser so long as a *.jpg file is in each album's folder and *.jpg is specified as the Album Cover File in RRConfig (per the help file). However, after following those steps I am still not seeing any cover art in the Cover Art Browser. Note that I am able to see cover art in the Player screen and in the regular browser screen, it is only in the Cover Art Browser screen that I see only the standard folder icons or a blue horizontal bar (see screenshots). Am I missing some configuration step or have I misinterpreted the functionality of the Cover Art Browser?
For reference I am using Digital FX 4 with the May 2009 RideRunner update (executable dated 05/13/2009). In case the name of the jpg matters, each image in the album folders is named folder.jpg and is visible and writable. Thanks for your help.

Update Music Database
When I push the button nothing happens. I have placed MediaInfo.dll (0.7.5.3) in several places and nothing happens. What is missing and where?
Searched all over and if there is a topic, its too spread out to find.
Thanks
Webb

That's weird! try checking "show icons" in rrconfig. just a wild guess!

Thanks for the suggestion treetop777, but I'm afraid it did not fix the problem. I made sure Show Icons was checked in RRConfig, verified the setting in rr.ini to make sure it did not get reset, and did a system restart for good measure. I noticed some folder and file icons (generic icons, not cover art) which were not visible before showed up in the second browser screen, but I still get no cover art in the Cover Art Browser screen.
I did a search based on your suggestion and found a few threads like these two:
Help w\ album art
ILists with Directory List
that seemed applicable, but the steps given there are already implemented in Audio_Thumb_browser.skin.
Also, utd09bry (whose reply is for some reason not showing up in this thread for me) suggested I might need the MP3Art plugin. That plugin was already in my RR folder, but just to be safe I downloaded the latest one I could find (12/06/2008) and registered it, but it made no difference. I was under the impression though that it is used for displaying art embedded in the MP3 files themselves if no standalone cover art file is found and none of my test files are setup this way.

After downloading the DFX 4.0, did you update the RRMedia plugin to v1.2.2, as the skin originally came with the original RRMedia release v1.0.0. The mediaInfo is already supplied with the Media plugin and will be updated to the current ver when i release the next RRMedia version.
If it is doing nothing then something is not correct. Try running the RegRRMedia.bat in your RR folder to make sure that everything in the PI is registered. Also check that you have a RRDatabase folder in your RR folder and all of its files.

Skin Update in the coming weeks
As many of you already know, I have not been working on the skin for many personal reasons (My Mom passing, My Car accident, 2 friends passing and a lot of other stuff).
I have started to work on the skin again, and am getting it ready for an update in the coming weeks. I have implemented some stuff from Blue's RRExtended plugin such as the task manager, Calculator (Replacing the flash one so its fully skinnable) and a few other things.
Google traffic maps as well as the satellite radar map will now center correctly on your GPS location. If none is avail, you can set a LAT and LON in the ini.
All of the bugs and problems reported since the last release have been fixed, not to say there will not be new ones with this next release haha!
I am still working on a few more things, such as cleaning up the Fusion Brain skins, implementing some new commands and features of RRMedia, and I would like to get Sonic's new maintenance plugin incorporated if it is completed in time.
Elcamino's new You Tube plugin is already implemented and is working perfectly! You can see a preview of the video, and then click to go to full screen.
This is just an update, So, please bare with me, as I try to get everything finished up and released.
There is No set release date at this time, so please just be patient.... it is coming

Don't for forget you need to update the Trafficam, petrol and rrgas (especially with the new 1.6 things being added) skins.
Oh and an (RR)Upd8 skin would be nice, maybe TTGrid as well.

That is not a question I can answer easily.... there have been SOooo many changes since the Ride Runner release., and tinkering with things here and there...
Off the top of my head, the only thing that comes to mind immediately is the dimming slider. Without the newer RR versions, the slider and dimming will not work.
With older versions, you also will not be able to see the album thumbnails and such in directory listings.
That's the only 2 I can think of for now....
Enforcer: as far as traffic cams and such, I think its prob just best if I give you the skins and images to include in your packages, as you do not want your plugins included with released skins. This way when they install the plugins of their choice, it comes wih the skins they can copy into place along with the plugin setup.
