It is actually another layer in RR that sits on the very top layer when RR draws the screen.
As for the sync plugin, I will have to take a look at it and see......
Cool, thanks a lot as always John.!.

IMPORTANT! ! ! !
The next version of this skin will REQUIRE the latest RR to be installed. I am sorry it will not work 100% for some of you who do not wish to upgrade.
To me, it just makes no sense for me to limit some of the features in the skin, and not make some really cool changes just because they are not available in the older RR versions.
Known issues with using the upcoming DFX release with older RR versions are:
- Possible weather problems, as it will be an external plugin, and not internal to RR. Having the weather inside rr, as well as an external plugin could cause problems. The full extent is not known yet, and it may be possible to come up with a work around before that release.
- Most of the indicators in the skin will not work, to include file indicators (The icons next to the buttons on the main menu) The next RR release will allow indicators to be placed inside of a defined button area.
Ok, all that being said, I am still plugging away at getting it ready for a release in the next month or so. I have no set date, and will try to keep the progress updated here.

Will this do?

Looks sweet as,
And i agree no use releasing something that does not utilize all the improvements of the latest RR releases.
Looking forward to seeing this in action.

Hahha! someone is reading my mind! I hated having to put the icons outside the button (mouse over) area. It was out of necessity at the time, and I did the best "look" I could with the whole button not being able to be highlighted.

Hey John something to consider for you next release.
It think it would make a great addition.
MS Live Maps (now Bing Maps)...has the best Traffic system around.
Way better than Google or antyhing else.
Not only that it has the highest coverage rate North America.
Even in Canada. It's actually the only system I've see that has extensive traffic coverage in Canada..
So you see where im going with this...lol
Please incorporate it into the next release.
Really its only a Web interface afterall. but would be nice to have direct access to it with possibly some control.
(eg. zoom, 3D/2D, Tilt, etc)
Too bad Mappoint doesn't support Traffic.
Anyway check out the Traffic coverage.

Keep up the good work!!!!

From what I can see, it has just just about the same coverage as Google Traffic. They may not be identical, but the are very similar.
That being said, I spent a lot of time on the Google Traffic skin and have it working really well. When you click on traffic, it will automatically show you the map for your current GPS position automatically.
Say you are on a 2 hour drive, and want to see the traffic up ahead, click the traffic button, and it centers on your area, not a "defined home" area ect.

Ok I really need some help here... I've tried DigitalFX 4.0 on 3 different computers... one of which had completely different music on it and it still fails to build the DB.
What is going on here? How can I find out why it is failing?

@NOTORIOUS_VR
Please keep the db related issues to the RRMedia thread as they are related to that and not this skin as a whole.
Thanks,

Hey John is there any chance that the RRJTFE search plugin will be included in the new release?

Google Traffic is OK..but has absolutely no coverage for Canada.
Personally i live in Ontario. MS Maps is the only one the covers the area, or any other Canadian areas.
Google has no traffic at all for Canada.
The only downside of MS Maps is that i don't think it directly supports GPS, since its a web app.
Anyway, if you could consider it, would be a bonus.
thanks
