I am running RR with DigitalFX 3.0, and iGuidance 3.0. Everything runs beautiful except for the "guages". So I downloaded Xport and splitted com port 7, where my GPS was connected to, to com ports 8 and 9. iGuidance is now configured to port 8, and RR is configured to port 9. The problem I am having is that everything runs well until I open the Guages skin. The guages work for about 20 or 30 seconds and then RR hangs and I have to close and restart it. I tried many different combinations of the com ports and all seem to yield the same results. If I don't go to the guages skin, RR seems to not hang. I don't realy know what may be causing this, RR, Skin, or Xport? BTW, the PC does not freeze. Only RR hangs.

Set debug=true in rr.ini. Go to gauges, and when it hangs, cntrl+alt+del, kill roadrunner. Open debug.txt, and see if the last line says something like Executing: LOCATE. If it does, delete ziplocator.dll from your road runner folder.

i did not see this addressed (sorry if i missed it)

my gps shortcuts are not functioning properly. specifically when i hit gas prices, and "map it". it looks like it tries but it gets hung up at one of the menu screens sometimes and sometimes it just brings me back to the nav screen

oh and the help file says digitalfx 2.0 .. dont know if thats a typo or not

Thanks,
Wes,

You're not the only one that's having issues with Sirius, there's another guy that was having the same issue earlier in the thread.

Speaking of Sirius....

John,

Have you found a way to successfully pause and rewind live Sirius radio?

I saw there was a thread back in 2006 talking about this.

I assume no one has been able to do it with success.

Any updates?

Thank you. I will do that tonight when I go home.

I don't think it's been pursued. I did play with Centrafuse a few months ago and it supports those features now.

It's funny, I used to have those features when I had a sportster and I now I don't miss them at all.

Big Fan of this skin, had the original in my Maxima. John for some reason I can't switch logo's. No matter what I select it does not change the clock. I think I may be missing some files in the skin folder.

I am trying this from my desktop, so it's not an Internet connection issue (cable modem). Looks like all the folders are where they belong. The radar, sat and temp maps work fine and are updated, but there is no display on the 1 day and 5 day maps. I have a GPS hooked up, configured the port (2) and can see 12 satillites locked in the gauges skin, so I know it's connected and getting a signal, but that's not needed for anything but GPS (GPS button) weather, right? Or, do all the tabs work off a GPS signal? Basically, the 1/5 day weather function no workie for me.

The cursor goes from hourglass to mouse pointer every 2-3 seconds or so.

I tried to click on the west palm, etc, header buttons, and set my city/state in RR Config. I even disabled my Norton AV, nothing helps. I also set weather and net check to "allow" in Norton.

Lastly, this is the same GPS antenna (earthmate) I had on my carPC machine, and it worked fine there. Haven't tested it yet with DFX3.0 on it, but I'm not sure that is the problem either. Just thought I'd configure RR on my desktop then copy the files to the other machine when done this way it's all set when I do the install.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix this?

Well, just an update to this, and maybe something to think about...

I had a chance to install RR and DFX on my laptop today, and followed the same steps I used for my desktop. Skin and RR work perfectly "right out of the box"

I'm wondering if the "problem" (and maybe some of the wierd **** people are saying are problems) might be due to a machine, processor, OS update version, driver, current AV programs, firewalls, or whatever compatibility vs just being PIA noobs?

BTW, weather worked just fine without a GPS unit, based on the city, state tabs while connected to the 'net.

The final destination for this is obviously the CarPC, so I'll just need to tweak everything on the laptop! No biggie, and just food for thought.

Radio - (Normal AM/FM)

I have most things running correctly, but have a problem with the radio.

The RADIO button brings up the HD-RADIO skin. There are ini files for both, but the only on/off png's I can find are for HD.

In the Radio Standard folder is the ini and png's for I presume version 2.

I have tried to use these but that only suceeded in closing Road Runner when selected.

As I cannot find it mentioned in any other thread, if I am the only one then I must be missing some files. I have downloaded DFX again, on another machine as well, but the result is the same.

Can anyone suggest a workaround?

Radio and HD radio both use the same skin. What tuner are you using?

I'm using a D/link USB controlled by Radiator.

When I select the Radio button it starts the Radiator programme and the radio works.

Unfortunately none of the buttons on the skin will function.

I could be wrong, but I don't think you need to use radiator... set up radiomode=1 in rr.ini and see what that does
